I have the option of having a combination salad + appetizer plate, or having them as two separate plates.
I like the combo idea because it makes dinner slightly shorter which means there's more time to party ...
I like the separate plates idea because it seems fancier to have two diff courses.
which should i choose?

we're doing the combo so we can have intermezzo and then have more time to dance. Plus we're doing the viennese so I'd like to have the option of having it a bit earlier.
