Re: menu tasting????
I was told I could have one a month before the wedding. I did ask for one sooner, but was told a month before was fine.

Re: menu tasting????
Majestic held a bridal show (they have them ever 4 months or so) so we went..itsw was only $5 per person. The put out a full CH as well as smaller servings of their entrees. We were stuffed afterwards!

Re: menu tasting????
We had a tasting before we booked to make sure that we liked the food. We have not done the menu yet, so I am not sure if we will have another tasting - even then.

you can go eat in the restaurant they have, we had a tasting a month after we booked, they even put in the contract that we could cancel if we didn't like the food

Re: menu tasting????
We get two free 4 course tastings at the restaurant of the hotel. We don't get to try any of the cocktail hour food but we each get to pick a different appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert from the reception menu.

It depends on the hall.
SOme places (rare) will let you try to food before you book.
Some places (like NRC) will let you try to food after you book (they have a set tasting every month or so) and if you don't like the food you can cancel the contract w/ no penalty. We're waiting until much closer so we can use that to pick our menu. I'm really not worried, I'e heard only excellent things about NRC.
Some places have it so you try the food a month or so before so you can set the menu.
I think at most places there is some point when you can taste the food before the wedding. Just ask for it.

Re: menu tasting????
At Jericho Terrace we had a mini tasting with a sampling of things on the menu, but since the menu has 7 entrees, and there is a lot of cocktail hour food, I don't think they will let us taste everything on the menu. But the mini tasting gave us a sense of what the food was like.

Re: menu tasting????
We did before we booked. We selected everything we would have during cocktail hours and during dinner. We'll have another one a month before we finalize the menu.
The majority of the food at our venue is great but during the first tasting we did find some misses. We want to make sure that everything we serve is the yummiest!

Re: menu tasting????
FH and I had one in April at our hall.
you should try and get one scheduled, even though your wedding is less a month away.
if nothing else, it is a fun thing to do.

I had mine the day that I booked. My girlfriend had her wedding at majestic gardens and they wouldn't give her a tasting either!
