menus and other stuff. aack! im confused

this may be a stupid question but here goes: who prints the menus that are on the table for the guests? do i have to have that done or does the reception hall do it?

second question: are u paying to feed your DJ and photographers?

third question: is a rehearsal necessary if your ceremony is at the reception hall?

i am having a freak out day. it just feels so overwhelming at the moment. thanks for listening.

Menus - Depends on your RH

Feeding Vendors - Yes, I am! You should, unless they request otherwise (ask them)

Rehearsals are really helpful and I'd recommend one, even if you're planning to have your ceremony at the RH.

ETA - re: menus, my RH provides really nice personalized ones, so I'm not making my own. I would make my own if the RH didn't provide them. However, while they are a nice touch, they aren't absolutely necessary.

Some RH's do provide menus for you but some dont...You can buy them or make them yourself its up to you.

Well I am definitely going to offer it to them, alot of people though have said that when they ask the DJ they said no anyways

yes it is still necessary, the people in your bp and both you and FH still need to know what to do

I've heard that, too... but my band contract expressly states that we have to provide a hot meal for all band members.

My DJ contract says we have to provide food.
But, yes, we are feeding all our vendors.

I would def do menus and a rehersal!

Rehersal- it will take the stress of you on the day to know that people already know what they are supposed to do!

I think menus are a really nice touch! You can make them easily!

Some reception halls provide the menu (I know Eastwind and Oheka do).

Some don't (Villa Lombardi's). I also know that some CH's do not let you print your own...so check first.

I would definitely do a rehersal no matter what. It can never hurt to be too prepared.

Yes, I am paying to feed all of my vendors.

Good luck, and don't stress it. Everything will turn out fine!

Well, everyone has answered your questions, but I wanted to add that you can probably negotiate your vendor meals with your RH. My vendor meals are half price, which is such a relief. I've also seen some girls allow vendors to eat during the CH and not have a dinner during the reception.

Menu's option some halls do have them for a price or DIY.

Depending on the hall you vendors can eat half price, for free, or full price. If I had my dj/mc be the house vendor then it would of been free-but i didn't like them picked another person so its half price. Photographer/Videographer is free meals for me.

Rehersal - my hall doesn't do a formal one. You come in they do a fast run through prior to the ceremony and in some cases a lot of places do nothing just tell u the order and tell u where to stand when you get up there and thats it. Depends on your hall.

w/ the vendors, on all of ur contracts it will say
'meal greatly appreciated' or something like that. You should fed the DJ, photographer & videographer. It's only right.
Your RH should be giving u a deal on the vendors.

For instance, I had my wedding at Villa Lombardi's. They gave me a preferred vendor list. Any vendor that was on their list, if I booked w. them, the vendors would eat for about 1/3 of the price. And any vendors we chose ourselves that weren't on the list were about 2/3 of the price. Thats just an estimate. But yes, you really do need to feed them. . .

Some Rh's do print them out, but if you want something off the top, and alot of design & creativity, you will probably have to go someplace else to do it...

Rehersals are highly recommended. MY church rehersal went HORRIBLE! And then when it came to the wedding day [I think some members of the Bp were not paying attention] they did some things that were wrong [even tho no one realized] So I would DEFINITELY suggest a rehersal. You can't wing that the day of. I forgot some stuff, too, and I was the bride. I sat down immediately when I shouldn't of, because it was the opening prayer.

HTH!
Good luck!

Call chateau and ask about the menus...I know Flowerfield gives u them and charges u like $50 to have them personalized for every place setting.

We are feeding all our vendors, I think u pretty much have to. They are also annoyingly not counted in ure head count.

Since u are getting married at chateau, can u do the rehearsal the morning of?? this way u can save the time and $$ if doing it b4. It gets tricky when u get married at the RH bc u can't do a rehearsal on the weekend bc they usually have weddings. I think I'm going to just do the rehearsal the morning of the wedding since we're going to be there takin pics anyways. You can do a run through in 20-30mins. It saves time and money. You guys are seeing each other b4 anyways...i dunno...just a thought!!

How is everything else going??

I'm printing my own menus.

Yes, I'm feeding my vendors. They will be working all day, so they need to eat too

I don't think you need a rehearsal, but check w/ your BM. I was in a wedding where the rehearsal was 30 mins before the guest arrived.
