My sister is not doing them, I think it's a nice touch, but not necessary.

Re: Menus Yes or No?
I have been to 2 weddings that did and 2 that did not. I thought it was very nice. The one did it within a picture frame the other was a nice scroll with a lovely ribbon. I am going to do it becaue I liked when I had it too.

Re: Menus Yes or No?
yes...and my reason may seem small but its my 'hangup' when i go toa party
I HATE when you have to strain to hear the choices the waiter is yelling in your ear over the loud music and inevitabily you choose something you dont like
ex- one time I ordered the chicken but it was with broccoli rabe which I hate ...of course i couldnt hear the waiter say what it came with so i was hungry
I feel menus just make it easier to know what youre getting so you can plan accordingly

Luckily my hall supplies them. If they didn't I'd probably do them myself. I think it looks nice.

Re: Menus Yes or No?
originally I wasn't going to have menus, but I changed my mind. It makes it easier for everyone (guests and wait staff) when people can see what the choices are and I also think it's a nice touch that doesn't cost all that much

Re: Menus Yes or No?
Amy, are you trying to do all these things now? with the menus and donation scrolls? If so forget the menus- its really not necessary. Dont make yourself crazy. Your big day is coming!!!!

Re: Menus Yes or No?
I say yes to menus. I am going to do a few on each table. Maybe like 5 menus at a table for 10. I think it makes it easier for the guests and is a nice touch!
But, I have more time then you do!

Re: Menus Yes or No?
Rather than put a menu at each placesetting (which I felt would clutter the table in addition to our mini-wine favors), I opted to do 2 menus/table and had the caterers place them near the centerpieces. This way, people were aware of the entree choices ahead of the waiters making the rounds (particularly important to me b/c one entree was somewhat unusual and I thought people wouldn't understand it if they didn't see it in writing). But I printed the menus myself at the last-minute, using the same stock as my invites, with monogram pre-printed on front by the print shop that ran our invites.

This can go either way- how do you pick something you dont like? b/c you cant hear? If I cant hear the whole table is discussing the choices anyway- everyone says can you repeat them or the guests next to you says what are the choices? Someone at the table is always asking what are the choices so you are not hearing them only once! It is a nice touch but not necessary. IF and only IF you are having more than 3 choices ( some of us had/have 7 ) then I say def - but otherwise no. put the money and time somewhere else.

I went to a wedding where they did this and I prefer it - no need to clutter the table up with many menus and most people won't save them.
For me, I didn't bother since it was just one more thing to worry about or do myself.
