Merging bank accounts?

When did you/will you merge bank accounts w/ your FH?

We are going to set up a joint account right after our EParty. Hopefully, we'll get a little cash to put in it. I think that it's a good time since it is 'joint money'.

we have a joint savings account ONLY right now- to save for wedding and home...

after marriage we will have joint checking and separate checking too

I think it's a good thing to keep separate and joint accounts.. Joint for household, vacation and savings, seperate for personal items, gifts, shopping addiction...

i also think it is a good idea because at least you each can save some $$ for say......a surprise birthday party or trip- or something you dont want the other to know about... if $$$$ is missing from joint account...the other will know something is up

FH and I will merge some accounts when when move in together. We've decided on this system
-One general savings accound
-One joing checking just for bills
-Each having our own checking accounts with an 'allowance'each paycheck.

I merged w/ him when we got enaged, for wedding purposes. I still have my own
