I am not sure what your budget is but David's bridal has a couple of really nice mermaid gowns out right now. I would take a look at the website. Also San Patrick and Demetrios have nice gowns.

mine is a maggie sottero cassady. it was less than $700.
My gown is from Demetrios it is a mermaid style and it cost $1025 with all alterations included.

Try Adrienne's in Islip; I didn't get my gown there but they have a lot in a mermaid shape for between $1200-$1500.

Jasmine has a lot of great mermaid styles that are very reasonably priced.
Mine isn't a severe mermaid, it's considered more of a trumpet, but it's pretty close, and it's widely sold for $1120 but the Wedding Center sells it for $975:
There's lots of others on their website.

I just went to the Maggie Sottero site out of curiosity and those are GORGEOUS! I wish I had known about her before I got mine. I had no idea she was so reasonably priced. Even though I love mine, they have something that was exactly what I wanted versus having to alter my dress to be what I wanted.
I love this..I love how its mermaid without like looking like you are shoved into it

go to knot.com. you can do a search there for the type of dress that you want and the price range and they give you tons of options from all designers.
