We met with Starlight Express and SIlver Fox Photography tonight and LOVED them both!!! This was the first DJ we went to see and the 2nd photographer....so I'm still going to visit a few more just to be sure....but FH & I felt really comfortable with both of these vendors.
Starlight Express- met with Vinny- he's so personable & very professional- he wasn't sure of the configuration with Douglaston Manor- so he's sending one of his guys there tomorrow to check it out- very impressive!! His price was a little high, but that was with some add ons (lighting columns and zap shots- not sure if I need them...although I do want a photo montage at some point during the reception)....so maybe if we take out some things they'll be in the price range I'd like them to be.
Silver Fox- John was so great.....I immediately felt comfortable with him and I would love if he was our photographer!! He had a great sense of humor and didn't act like a salesman. Their pricing is a la carte, so I can definitely work something into my budget, but since I want a lot it's probably going to run us around 6K with video. A little pricey for me, but after I shop around I'll see what John can do for us.
Hope this helps if your shopping around for a photographer or DJ!!!

Re: Met with a great photographer & DJ tonight!!
Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! I also booked Starlight Express for my wedding next year. They do a great job! They were the DJ at my cousin's wedding and I knew I had to have them!
I'm also getting the concert lighting columns and zap shots.....I think it will add that 'something special' to the occassion!
Congrats again!

Don't worry about confusing me lol.....it comes naturally with planning!! I loved both vendors last night, but they definitely were on the higher end of my budget, so I'd love to check out other vendors too!
Thank you for all of your help!!! If you have any other suggestions for me....feel free to share! I need all the help I can get
Your the best!

STARLIGHT EXPRESS IS FANTASTIC!! WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!!
He just did my sister's wedding last fri and I have him for my wedding in April so it was like a little preview. Well they were unbelievable. Enzo was the Dj and Vinny was the MC and they were worth every penny. She just had the 4 lights on the light up stands and they were great. I have no problem spending that money knowing they are so worth it.

I also had Enzo and Vinny - they were PHENOMENAL! Could not have been happier with them. I also got the 'zap shots' and honestly they were so worth the extra money, the guy they use is a professional, not just some guy with a digital camera. I now have an amazing album with 300+ pics from that.

Great!! When I looked through the albums last night with John, the ones I liked were shot by Don.
If we definitely go with Starlight, I'm not sure who we'd pick as an MC since I've read great things about both Paul & Vinny. I've read that Vinny is a little more low key and Paul seemed to get more involved on the dance floor from the footage they showed me last night. I think I'm aiming for low key, but FH wants someone who will get everyone pumped & on the dance floor!!
Congrats.....I'm sure they'll be great at your wedding- next week!!!! woooohoooooo!!!!!!!!
