We met with Starlight Express and SIlver Fox Photography tonight and LOVED them both!!! This was the first DJ we went to see and the 2nd photographer....so I'm still going to visit a few more just to be sure....but FH & I felt really comfortable with both of these vendors.
Starlight Express- met with Vinny- he's so personable & very professional- he wasn't sure of the configuration with Douglaston Manor- so he's sending one of his guys there tomorrow to check it out- very impressive!! His price was a little high, but that was with some add ons (lighting columns and zap shots- not sure if I need them...although I do want a photo montage at some point during the reception)....so maybe if we take out some things they'll be in the price range I'd like them to be.
Silver Fox- John was so great.....I immediately felt comfortable with him and I would love if he was our photographer!! He had a great sense of humor and didn't act like a salesman. Their pricing is a la carte, so I can definitely work something into my budget, but since I want a lot it's probably going to run us around 6K with video. A little pricey for me, but after I shop around I'll see what John can do for us.
