Met with a potential DJ, but I have a question
Is it normal to not meet the actual DJ before you book them? My fiance and I just had an appt with Body Rock, but we only met with the sales contact. We liked them and they gave us a good price, but I want to be able to meet the DJ and make sure we like him before signing! I have another appt with another company, and I`m meeting directly with the DJ/owner.

I think that you should be able to meet with your DJ. After all, you are hiring someone to basically 'run' your party. You should be sure that you like that person. We worked with NY Entertainment and met with the owner/DJ.

Depends on the company...
When we met with Variety, we met with the lady who books the appointments. Luckily we had met some of the MCs at a bridal show and had found one we thought would be the one if we chose to go with that company, which we didn`t. Eventhough we knew we had liked the one MC from the bridal show, the lady showed us a video tape of all their MCs at work .. but that`s kind of tough to go by when making a decision like this. However, in meeting with Parameters, Eddie Terryn, the dj/owner, was the one who came to us to discuss the details. Ultimately, he is the one we signed with. When meeting with Spin Around Sound, we went to Tom White`s (dj/owner) place in Garden City. But you should definitely be able to meet with any prospective DJs/MCs before you book them, in my opinion. I would think you want to make sure you`re all on the same wave length.

I go to school in Tampa, and the potential DJ called me and we talked for over an hr on what I envision for the wedding and how I want the party to move along. Then he took the trip to my mother's house and met with her, very professional,

I think you should be able to meet with the DJ/MC before your wedding. I booked with In the Mix and met with the Owner/MC. If you really like Body Rock I would ask them if you could meet with the Mc's/DJ's before you book.Welcome New Vendors
