So, met with Patken today... I wasn't overly impressed. I felt like the woman had a sales pitch memorized and I didn't like that at all. Their photos are nice (although I don't care for the seductive/ 'sexy' ones) but I want something alittle more personal.
The woman sat down at the end and said 'What kind of incentive can I give you to make you book with us today.' and not in a nice way in a you should book with us right now way.

when i met with them i wasnt overly impressed either. my hall gives us a basic package with them already since we booked in february. all of the upgrades we wanted came out to a price we knew we woudlnt be able to beat anywhere else (the basic package we already get is worth about $2100-$2400) so after we left we discussed it and decided to book them anyway

They gave me a pretty decent photo/video deal and offered to knock off $300 if I booked today but I am so afraid to settle...
Its interesting that they give you a basic package at Flowerfield...

I adored jesse from Patken the minute I met her. We have shopped around and really felt like they had the kind of quality services we could afford with whatever our vision was.
I wish you had a better experience. I would recomend them to anyone!

Theirs sales tactics leave something to be desired, but I forgot all about that when I saw my proofs. I had Vinny and he was amaaazing.

meet with george from right angle studios before you book there! i met with patken and i didn't book b/c of the same reason!!!!! the prices are definitely comparable

high pressure sales pitch? ugh I love their work but I didn't like them personally. I really like their 'sexy' pics!!! My FH didn't though -- he was like w t h? lol

I've seen alot of reviews on patken where girls say the pics are really good but when we spoke with them they say they want to assign who does your shoot and they hold your proofs for 6 mos or a year, I forget which, before you can use them. because of those 2 things we kept looking.

I'm sorry that you had that experience. Personally I wanted to book them right on the spot (but FH wanted to shop around), I felt they were THAT personal. Nadira was very accommodating and helpful and I'm glad we booked with them

This is exactly what you won't get from Dan Wagner. He is as personal as they come. Listened to every word I said and it showed when he customized our package.

they only do that if you book flowerfield in january or february. its a winter promotional package, i got pics from patken, Centerpieces from lovin oven floral design, 2 ice sculptures and cake upgrade of $1 per person that attend the wedding

i had a bad experience with them as well.. we were not impressed at all.. she rushed the entire meeting.. the video she showed us was horrible (the video guy was shaking and it was visible) maybe it was just a bad day for them but we crossed them off the list.

I am incredibly picky, bold, blunt and some would say abrasive.....I never felt any kind of pressure, only reassurance from Patken.
I would tell people who couldn;t afford their prices to take a loan to get them thats how adamant I am about how great they are.
I see a lot of people use AG here, which I left that photog with a very bad taste in my mouth. I would never talk crap or bs on them having not booked them. I think their work is lovely.

We also met with Patken this past Saturday. We really loved the pictures but they were also aggressive trying to sell us the package. She told us the same thing, 'What incentive can we give you to book today'. That must be the #1 sales tip there.
The only thing we didn't like was the fact that the bride and groom album only has 30 pictures in it. This does not seem like it would make a good wedding album. A friend told me that there should be at least 60-80 pictures in an album. I asked Patken how much it would be to increase the album to 50 pics and she said an extra $600. That is crazy!
We are definitely going to check out some more places...Dan Wagner is on our list. If anyone else has any ideas about good affordable photo and video let me know.
