I am going to check the place out. I love the style and the ambiance. I have never been to a wedding there so any help I can get would be great. Anyone that has been there or had a wedding there- please let me know how it is. My biggest concern is the food- it has to be excellent. I am choosing between North Ritz and Metropolitan at this point. I have been to North Ritz and loved it. Any replies would be appreciated! Thanks!!!!
I checked out the Metropolitan and thought the ambiance was great there. However, one thing to consider: the cocktail hour is on a balcony and is only accessible by stairs. This may be an issue for any handicapped/elderly guests. They had said that they would set them up downstairs and assign a server to them, but I still didn't like the idea of isolating some guests. This may be an issue if you have any guests who can't take the stairs.

Re: Metropolitan
I'm getting married at the North Ritz Club. Besides being gorgeous, I've heard nothing but rave reviews from past brides and family/friends who have attended weddings there. I get comments on how wonderful the food and service are constantly. I'm pretty excited to get married there
I've never been to the Metropolitan before but my parents and a few friends have and they say the food is good and so is the service. Its more of a contemporary look i believe. Not your typical catering hall ambiance. NRC gives off more of an intimate setting which is exactly what I was going for

True. And it is a relatively small area, so if you are having a big wedding, it can be a little cramped.

Re: Metropolitan
I went to a wedding there. In my opinion, it was nice and I had a great time, but i didn't feel there was anything particularly unique about the place or the food. Just a matter of personal taste, though. The bride and groom were very happy with it.

Re: Metropolitan
We're getting married at The Metropolitan in Glen Cove. We LOVE it!!! However, I think the max is 185 people and if you have the ceremony there (we are not) you would use the upstairs for cocktail (so yes, what someone else said about going upstairs is something to concider). Absolutely check it out- what a unique feel & very classy & we've heard nothing but rave reviews about the food... We've been working with Eileen and she is wonderful! Good luck & FM me if you need more info
