yeah, i suppose it's good because he has NY roots

not sure about his managerial experience though

we don't need a guy that's 'one of the boys'

sometimes they need to be kept in line

I love Willie ... I think he's professional, well liked, and definitely has experience (albeit not as a manger per se..)

But everyone has to start somewhere, and ya never know - he might work out great for the Mets. I wish him, and your team , Good Luck. I am glad that someone gave him a shot finally - he deserves it.

I'm sorry to see him leave as a bench coach for my Yanks, but at least I can keep an eye on him when I'm forced by DH to watch a Mets game

Look at it this way, Yankee fans are in a win-win situation

If Randolph fails, the Yankee fans can say that he doesn't have 'it', which is why the Yanks got rid of him

If the Mets do well, they can say, of course they did well, a former Yankee is managing them

I agree - we need someone who isn't afraid to raise their voice to the players (ala Art Howe).
