Mexican Food in NYC

FH parents live in Manhattan and we are going to stay at their apartment this weekend while they are away. Does anyone know a good Mexican place we can go to? I wanted Rosa Mexicano but they are all booked for Sat night

I'm going to check out City Search too.

Mary Ann's (multiple locations) and El Rio Grande - 38th and 3rd. Killer margaritas. If you want more upscale Mexican food, try Zarela on Second Avenue...

Woo I have eaten at Zarela..That place is good. I think we just want to go and get some drinks and have fun. Nothing too crazy..Rosa is just my favorite place ever :)

I like Rosa too. If you want another upscale Mexican Maya is really good.

(I had a bad experience with the food at Zarela - didn't like it at all - maybe I got an off night).

Chango is good too. Not too, too expensive kind of trendy.

Rio Grande's maragrita's are great the food is so-so. But after a couple of their margarita's, you won't care about the food!!! I always have fun there!

Dos Camino's on Park Avenue South
Max Mexcal 86th between 2nd & 3rd
I like Maya better than Rosa Mexicano
Tortilla Flats - more a party place

oooh Lauren..Dos Caminos - I was trying to think of the name of that place when I posted before. I only went once and the food was super spicy! Good but spicy but there was a long wait...we had called for reservations and were told we didn't need them but I would recommend making them if you can. I agree that Maya does have better food but Rosa is a more fun place. Maz Mezcal - I was going to recommend that one too!

I was wondering why I haven't seen bridetobe around...

I liked the fresh guacamole at Dos Caminos, but I wasn't crazy about the rest of the food - yes, very spicy. But it seems to be pretty popular.
