Mexico or Dominican Republic?

Quick q ladies...where would you rather go on vacation....to DR or Mexico. DH and i are thinking of going on vacation in November....probably won't be able to afford to go on one for awhile...so might as well live it up.

we've both been to mexico before, but we really LOVED it, so we wouldn't mind going back. but at the same time, DR sounds nice.

either way, we'd go for 5 days, all inclusive.....opinions?? or ideas for resorts in either country.

My friends just came back from the DR and they LOVED it!! The resort was beautiful, all inclusive as well, and from what they said all the resorts in the DR give you a LOT for your money!!

2x to Paradisus resort (family oriented) in Punta Cana
1x to Secrets Excellence (adults only) in Punta Cana.

American has direct flights to Punta Cana, otherwise most plane changes take place in San Juan.

I say mexico!! I loved mexico and I am going back in July. I have heard good things about DR but dh and I had a bad experiance there and will not go back.

Funny, our HM options were between MX and DR. What part of Mexico were you thinking of?

Probably Playa del Carmen, Los Cabos, Acapulco...more relaxing areas.

My parents just came back from this resort so its definitely open.

Really??? the website states Secrets Punta Cana isn't opening until 2008??? maybe we are talking about another one. http://www.secretsresorts.com -- it only allows you to book Secrets Riviera Maya--but not any other Secrets resorts.

okay i see where the confusion was--this is the new Excellence resort--the original Secrets Punta Cuna resort--is under new management and won't be re-opening until 2008. that's why there was a confusion, cause this resort you linked me to is the Excellence resorts--not Secrets!

We got engaged in DR and went on our honeymoon in Mexico

Liked DR alot better. Beaches were GORGEOUS, food was great, and it was cheaper in general than Mexico
