Hello Ladies. I have convinced myself to come back on. I was overwhelmed with all the projects and info out there i couldn't process it all.
My wedding is in January and I know i'm behind.
setting budget. how much can i even expect. I did book the venue and its around 20,000. no what? is there a website to follow about real price ranges for nothing too fancy.... lol.
Music is next on the list.... any thoughts or recommendations.?
Thanks for listening. I am going to make an effort to come on daily.

Re: MIA due to stress
I am totally with you on the stress. I thought I had it all together and then *POOF!* something makes me think about 10 other things and I get stressed. Then I stop doing stuff and think about how I am falling behind, THEN stress about that!
I know my wedding is later in 2013 than your but I just sent in the deposit for the DJ. I liked LI Sound and Variety. They both offered great custom packages. I do alot of research on the vendors we are choosing. Since I live out of state, when I do come to LI I can't waste time with vendors who are not on the top of my list.
This website has been awesome for reviews as well as the number rating system on wedding wire.

Aww try not to stress. Just take everything one step at a time. Look up DJs that u are interested and either email or call them for pricing info. Ive found that most I have contacted had no orob quoting me through email or sending over a price sheet. From that u can determine who is in your budget and take it from there.

Agreed! Also, if you have to feed your Vendors the Venue's normally feed 'House Vendors' for free. You just have to do research and don't stress, you have time!

Re: MIA due to stress
I hear ya! I got REALLY overwhelmed while looking for a reception venue because my ceremony is there also and I wanted it to be perfect for us. Once I got that and photography done, I feel much better. It's just one thing at a time. I've been just gathering ideas to look at another time so I don't get so crazy. It's helpful to be on here because you can search for vendors and get ideas of prices and how much you can expect to pay for things.

Don't stress...I'm also a January bride and old have the RH, photo and video done. I'm working on finding a band now and then I'll move onto flowers. Don't worry...it will all come together.

Re: MIA due to stress
I'm learning that wedding planning can be very stressful, but every time I feel myself getting upset I stop what I'm doing and take a deep breath. We have plenty of time!
Your RH is the biggest check of the them! Congrats on that.
Once we booked our RH, I started looking at the house vendors. That way I narrowed down the options, which is a plus.
Try to attend a few bridal shows. Ask your RH if they host one.
I am currently looking at DJs and Photographers. Not sure who I am picking as of yet.
And, the ladies of LIW are awesome! Feel free to ask any questions.

Re: MIA due to stress
Thanks Everyone. I feel better today by reading and talking to a friend who is a past LIwedding bride.
I will keep coming up with questions and hopefully soon I will help others!
I am going Monday to a Showcase in Uniondale and Tuesday at Chateau.

Re: MIA due to stress
It is very stressful. Like the other girls said, start off with house vendors, email or call them for prices, ask who you married friends for vendor recommendations, and sign up for a couple of showcases. Definitely go to you RH showcase.
