I have been hearing a lot of negative things about her. I have a trial with her next week. And~ I know she has another wedding the same day as mine. What she was going to do was, come to me first, then go to the other bride(only for make up) and then come back to me.
Who else has heard bad things about her, and is she reliable?
Should I not bother using her?
I am really torn, dont know what to do.
Her work seems really good, and girls that post their pics seem really happy.
But then I also heard that she ask girls to post for her???
I dont want to start rumors, it was things that I read off this site.

i am shocke dyou are actually the 1st person that i have heard say anything negative about Mia...everything i have heard about her is from LIW and eveyone seems to rave about her ...i have met her in person & spoke with her & she seems great

I personally am using her and thought she was so sweet! She is amazingly talented and if anything she is concerned about you on your day! I'm sorry that you've been hearing negative things but to be honest I haven't seen too many bad things, more good! I booked her right away and I have no regrets! I would meet her and have her do the trial first! Good luck and I HTH!!

I have seen some bad things about her lately, but the good definitely outweigh the bad here. My suggestion would be to meet with her and go with your gut. Use her if you feel comfortable using her. Personally, I wouldn't be okay with her leaving and then coming back when she was done. But that's just me. And in terms of posting for her, lots of vendors ask that so I don't think there's anything wrong with that. It's just good business sense IMO. Good luck with your trial!

I know, I was suprised too. I heard such great things about her.
It just made me really nervous after reading these posts..and not just from one girl.
Anyway, I am still going to have a trial with her.

I am not using Mia but I have heard nothing but great things about - I know there was only one time (since I have been online) that people were complaining about not hearing from her and that is when she had her baby - I know her hubby made a few calls from her but besides that nothing but GREAT things.........

I used her for makeup and she had another bride that morning before me, she was a half hour late and it pushed everything back. So if I were you I would have a problem with her leaving and coming back.

I am using Mia and loved the work she did on me for my trial! She's very sweet and from past brides, I've only heard great things - her work is great, really punctual, etc etc.
I have noticed that some girls (I think on 08) posted that they did not have positive experiences, but to be honest, NO VENDOR will have 100% positive reviews. I personally am putting more weight on the experiences of brides that have used her than on brides that went for a trial and didn't like something (because I did have a trial and loved mine) or decided not to have a trial for other reasons (like she was hard to reach - that was true for me, but it was worth the wait).
And she did not ask me to post anything about her trial. I did post pics and my experience because I was just so happy with it, but she never even hinted at me posting something. One of my other vendors who I also highly recommend (completely different field) did mention to me that it would be appreciated if I made mention of my experience on LIW and I said that I would be more than happy to, so I really don't see a problem with it even if Mia has asked others to post about their experiences with her.
I recommend you go for a trial and see how you like it and base your decision on your own experiences. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the positive feedback. This whole hair and make up trial thing has not been a great experience for me yet. I have had a few trials already, and I wasnt really pleased. So as you can see I am extremely nervous about who I will end up using.
But I have seen a lot of posts that say nothing but great things about her, and her work seems really good.

The only way to really decide is to go see her-you may lose out on exactly what you want by not doing that-go with your gut.
Personally-no matter what m/u vendor I would not be comfortable with them leaving and coming back-thats just me-there is too much that could happen in that time. I was almost 2 hours late getting to my apartment for my m/u the day of my wedding and had my m/u artist had another wedding....I would have been screwed.

Mia is absolutely amazing, despite all these rumors. her work is definitely worth the wait and she is the sweetest person so dont always believe what you hear, sometimes you have to go with your gut feeling

i just had my trial with her yesterday (its posted on the '08 boards) and i thought she did a beautiful job and was very sweet to me!! its nice to hear other peoples feedback, but i also believe in forming your own opinons...im sticking with my gut and booked her..im confident in her abilities and that she will make sure that i look amazing on my wedding day

I'm not familiar with her beyond what's been written on this site (good and bad), but based on the schedule presented, I would be worried that she would not be able to make it back in time. I would ask her about her second gig--how far away is it? Will she be able to make it back at that time of day, at that level of traffic, etc.?

Well its surprising to here that people been saying negative things about her, cause everything I see about her is nothing but positive. I have never met her but when I called to try to book her for my wedding she was already booked and she was nice enough to recommend me to other vendors. And she was nice enough to say if they're all taken to call her back and she'll help me find someone!! So from that experience alone I thought she was awesome!!
