I really dislike this man. He lies and bends the truth, slices his filming, misrepresents and basically is a fraud selling his point of view on the world by creating a convincing lie called a movie.
It's just opinion though, thats what people have to realize, unless there are some undisputable facts and if there are I'd like to see them, I think I will see it, I think education is when you take all opinions, see if the facts add up and make a logical decision and I am interested to see what he has to say about it all.

nope. although I kinda want to , because I feel you can't really criticize something utnill you see it, I just have no patience for this man.
And his little anti-war rally at the Oscar's made me have to leave the room.

yes I will probably see it- someone has to criticize the administration... while his oscar speech was a little over the top- voice like his need to be heard.

Have you seen his other movies? You don't necessarily have to agree with everything he is saying but I believe he does a good job of telling the 'American' story. I have watched 'Roger & Me' a few times, it was a great documentary. There should be more people out there (with opposite views of him) getting out there and showing 'real' America ...

Have you watched network news or read a newspaper lately? Who isn't criticizing the administration?
I saw the Columbine documentary about 3 weeks ago and it ok. I like the part where he got K-Mart to stop selling bullets at their stores.

First off, I agree the speech at the awards was out of line. He's not there for political reasons.
Secondly, I think some of what he says is very true. Before Bush ran the country into the ground, I thought moore was an idiot. Just 2 months ago, I watched Bowling. A lot of what goes on in that movie is true. Especially how the media accentuates negatives.
I would likely see the film, but I would definately need to know more about it.

Bowling for Columbine opened my eyes to a lot of things that I didn't know before. Like how our country has over 11,000 shooting deaths a year, when other countries (like Germany) only have about 600, and Canada has NONE! Why is that? That question couldn't be answered. So yes, I will definitely see this new thing he's doing and form my opinion once it's over. I'm not 'pro-Michael Moore' necessarily, but I have him props for his Oscar speech. I might not have agreed with it 100%, but it took guts to do it and that's why Freedom of Speech is one of the best things about our country.

I tend to agree, I watched Bowling for Columbine and was shocked at the number of gun deaths in this country. He raises many good points and makes you think.
I will be seeing Fahrenheit 9/11.

I think it's great to have lots of different opinions out there, lots of different ways to express those opinions. I agree the oscar speech was over the top, but I'm really happy to live in a place where he's free to say whatever the hell he wants without having to worry about censorship or persecution.

X - I'm not voting in your poll because none of your choices don't have your own opinions running through them.
I will see Fahrenheit 9/11 (not sure if I'll see it in the theaters, but who knows), because it tells a story that needs to be told. I don't know that it's 100% truth, but there's a lot more to this than our President chooses to admit. Notice that when he testified, he did so without being under oath. How am I supposed to believe anything he says if he is not even willing to testify under oath? If there's nothing to hide, he shouldn't have a problem with swearing not to lie. Also remember what he was doing the ENTIRE month before 9/11 - he was on Vacation. It was the longest vacation for a sitting president in history.
I agree that Moore's tirade at the Oscars was out of line - inappropriate time/place and all, but that does not discredit him as a filmmaker. And I don't see him calling this 'art'. There's nothing artistic about it. He is solely presenting the truth as he sees it.

Definitely agree with you girls. Bowling for Columbine, as well as his other documentary, Roger & Me, were excellent in my opinion.
I will definitely be seeing Fahrenheit 9/11.

For all who thought Bowling for Columbine was true.. here's a site for you.
It wasnt true and he did really tricky things to take statements out of context and twist around views to make it seem real or true.
Posted by Xelindrya It wasnt true and he did really tricky things to take statements out of context and twist around views to make it seem real or true.
Manipulative.
What you believe is true and what he believes is true AND what I believe is true is all different things. He has every right to make a movie/documentary on anything he wants. He's a private citizen - this is not the government spewing stuff at us and he has the absolute right to make a film any way he wants it. Plenty of the things in his documentary's are TRUE TRUE TRUE. Do I agree with all of his thoughts/ideas? NOPE, but I do believe he has a right to show them. Anyone who doesn't want to see the film for their own reasons shouldn't but I don't think he neccesarily is a flat out liar - he shows what he believes to be the truth. Just like the government only shows us what they want us to see, Michael Moore uses his films to show us what he wants us to see - which is why it is important to view all types of materials on these types of issues. Not one answer or viewpoint is right - if you can learn from it and take some of it with you, then I say it is a good thing. I would never put all my eggs into one basket as they say in believing everything either Michael Moore, the Media, or the Government is % correct in what they tell me.

Re: Michael Moore's new form of so-called 'Art'
Here's the thing...everyone is always going to have a different opinion about things and the ability to voice them is what makes this country great. I personally have great respect for him. Do I think every single thing he says is the gospel truth? No, because I think he has such a dislike for the admin that it makes him very partial (but to be honest I feel the same way) But I do think that whatever his opinion he should be able to voice it. If Rush Limbaugh can spit all his venum on the radio everyday then anyone can. I do plan to see this new movie (if it can be released). I throughly enjoyed Bowling for Columbine. Any movie that can wake up the masses and make them think about what is going on in their country whether good or bad is a good thing. Also at least he does defend his facts and opinions on his web site and in his books. [L=http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/wackoattacko/

I want to see it. I think Moore expresses an interesting view-point on issues that so many other people seem to be afraid to tackle.

QUESTION....THIS IS A QUESTION (really)
Didn't Michael Moore get an oscar (or some kind of an award) for Bowling for Columbine and it was taken back??? Due to the falsities in the movie?
