Microdermabrasian and make-up Q's

I want to start getting microdermabrasian treatments in the months leading up to my wedding so I have 'glowing' skin. Has anyone done this? If so, please give me a review of what it did for your skin.

Also, Part II of this post: what make-up (foundation) do you use? I want something that is light, doesn't clog pores and is natural.

Part III: what facial moisturizer do you use? I have used clinique for years...looking for something new.

TIA!

I wanted to do a micro derm but didnt bec I heard that would make my face worse. Everytime I use a scrub on my face my face turns red and breaks out even more. I heard about Bare Minerals Makeup or something like that, that is suppose to be good for you. I use a Neutrogena moistureizer

i would say first go to a salon and ask what would be the best treatment for you...last month i started my routine of going to get facials before the wedding and i will get one every 4 weeks until the week of my wedding...i thought she was going to do a microdermabrasion but i was wrong, who knows she might do it later on bc she said she'll do a bunch of different things.

I dont use foundation. Now i am actually using this treatment for my face its very light and its supposed to be more of a cream for my face but it has a tint so i use that, but many times i also just put a serum on my face that the lady who does my facials gives me, and then just put blush and mascara. Stay away from silicone based products...maybe try bare minerals...even before i went for facials i didnt wear foundation, i would either use a pressed powder(and no that doesn't mean loose powder) or i use a concealer stick and just put it on the areas i need it

I like cetaphil for moisturizers, it is non-comedogenic which is good for your skin...but now i am using products that was given to me to use in between my facials which includes an organic serum, after treatment lotion, camphor mask, benzoyl scrub, glycolic peel cream

oh my skin got real bad, i was breaking out alot...i was going to a derm and even got cortizone shots a couple of times...i dont normally take pics when i have bad breakouts hahahaha. But right before i decided to go to this lady for facials, infact the weekend before it just got so out of control i really had to take action, i was getting cystic pimples.

Now i am not using cetaphil as a moisturizer bc im using alot of things as it is but yeah i like cetaphil

I want to start the one facial a month thing - I just got one this weekend at Mohegan Sun - it was sooo expensive (180 bux) and just okay. My face definitey glowed, but for the money I expected more. That is why I want to try microderm.

I have heard good things about cetaphil. I like to use a facial astringent (the stuff you put on and it deep cleans and kinda feels cold - not sure what it's called). I have always used Clinque's 3 step system.

Anyone else - what do you use?

well my skin was getting real bad and with the derm i was waiting too long for results and it helped clear up pimples but also dried out my skin and i also wanted nice looking skin on top of making my breakouts go away...I heard of this lady who is real good and helps people alot with problematic skin so thats why i decided to go to her for facials every month. There was a HUUUGE difference after just 1 facial and i didnt even expect results like that after just 1 time, even FH kept saying OMG your skin looks so much better and even said i think your skin might look better than mine now(he thinks he has amazing skin lol)

If you just get a facial and get a mask and more of a pampering thing then i dont think it makes that much of a difference. Like i said go to one and tell them what you want to achieve and see what they suggest. Theres glycolic peels, oxygen blasts, and tons of other new things out there.

how much is a good price to pay for a facial? By my house they are all like 125 bux - I could drive 1/2 hour and get it for 65.

The microdermabraision I have only seen for like $150.

I go in the city so they charge alot...the norm ive seen is $125 and up but yeah for things like microdermabrasion it is that much, infact $150 is a good price for it...where i go a 45 minute microdermabrasion treatment(which is more like a masque is $205...the microdermabrasion is $260 they also have microdermabrasion with ampoule serum which is $295

there are some things that are between $80-100, these are 30-45 minute treatments but usually things like a masque and light facial....once you get into microdermabrasion, peels, and more serious things then they will be more money
