Microphone during ceremony

Microphone during ceremony

Quick question for all you beautiful brides out there...my FH and I have been arguing with my mom about this whole mic issue. She feels that we should speak into a microphone during the ceremony so that all our guests can hear everything that's going on. We, on the other hand, believe that this is a special, sacred moment that we would like to keep as intimate as possible, and we don't feel a need to be heard hybrid crowd. We're going to be mic'd for our videographers with tiny mics so that well be able to hear ourselves on the video when we watch it, but that's about it. I just really an getting so frustrated with arguing With her so I'm hoping to hear some of your thoughts ! Thank u all so much in advance!!

i saw no microphone.

plus, if you're already wearing a small body mic, that will create feedback if you put a handheld microphone anywhere near it. i think it's a bad idea overall to be mic'ed during a ceremony because microphones never work how they are supposed to. you're right - if your vows are sacred to you, then you should be able to say them like you want to.

most officiants come with a microphone and speakers, otherwise none of the people will hear what the officiant is saying either...

I'm pretty certain our officiant will be mic'd and if we speak at normal levels, our voices will be picked up too. My FH will be mic'd by our videographer. I think if your officiant is mic'd that's all you'll really need. No need for big booming voices, and run the risk of feedback if your FH is also mic'd for your video.

I agree with no mic besides for the videographer. Plus the priest will have one & with the echo of the church I'm sure she'll be able to hear you anyway. I feel the same way that its a sacred moment!

This! Usually the officiant's small mic will pick up your vows. No big mic needed.
