MIGRAINE HELP!!!

I don't know any nuerologists sorry, but I've been getting migraines for over 10 years now. Exedrin migraine pills help, as does caffeine.

ITA!! Excedrin Migraine is the best thing ever invented

Thanks ladies but I have been getting them since I was 5 so over the counter medicine doesn't do anything at all for me

Go to a neurologist. That's where I went and they were able to perscirbe me Relpax for my migraines. Chances are, that's all they'll really be able to do for you... there's no cure

I went to South Shore Neurologic Assoc. and saw Dr. Anand. They're in Bay Shore.

ETA: You can always call your regular Dr. and ask them to reccommend/refer you to a Dr./Specialist.

i am in the same boat. I've been getting them since i was very young. Used to get terrible sick stomache migraines. After my teen years they eased up a bit.. but i get a minor migraine every day practically and then once in a while... BAM.. worst migraine ever!! I used to do the excedrine ...but now that makes me sick (bad tummy) ... and it doesnt always help anymore. for my mini migraines ..2 ibuprofins help if i take em right away.. but once it's a real full blown one.. no dice!! I got 2 new pills recently from my nuerologist (who's in queens.. sorry i dont know any on long island) and the first 1 i tried didnt help..but i think i didnt take it soon enough. luckily i havent had a reason to try the 2nd one just yet. They do have a lot of new things out there though. Good luck finding a neurologist... i think the right pain management will make a world of difference and they'd be the best to help you. Trust me i know how horrible it is

Replax was one of the pills my doc gave me.. i forget if that is the one i took the day i had my migraine.. but i think i waited to long...and it took hours before i had any relief!!! Migraines really are terrible.. i wish they would find more for those who suffer from them..cause it truly is something u have to suffer from

I used to be on Relpax. It worked really well for me but then after about 2 years my body was becoming immune to it so I had to find something else. Now Im on Imitrex and it works really good for me.

I've also tried Maxalt, that the one where you put it under your tongue and it disolves in seconds. It was OK but I had to take it the SECOND that I felt a migraine coming on otherwise it couldn't do the job. I also tried Fiorecet (sp?) and that was of no help at all.

i actually was looking for some help with this on the boards recently. i have also suffered with migraines since i was a little kid. no luck with any OTC medicine. best help i can give to you is to look on-line for a list of migraine triggers & avoid those foods. also look for a list of migraine preventive type foods & follow that. i recently read that tomato juice is very good so i have been drinking a can of tomato juice everyday for the past 2 weeks & it has been helpful in preventing migraines.

i have done lots of reading so if you need any more advice feel free to FM me at anytime.

thats the one i took.. the one that dissolved... and thats why it didnt work cause i took it like 10 seconds too late..lol. But once you start to fee that comin on .. it takes every piece of me to get up just to get the damn pill!!!!!!!! I'm def. making another neurology appt. after the wedding cause my headaches have been getting more frequent again (prob. stress related too)
