Re: migranies
I used to get horrible migraines. The types where I would have to immediately leave work and go to sleep, the type that would pound at my head and I couldn't even eat or sit up.
Exederin migraine actually works a bit.
I also cut out ALL caffeine, and the majority of my headaches are now gone! That means all caffeinated soda, teas, coffee, snapple, etc.
For something more drastic, a friend got botox in certain places in his forehead to help stop migraines (I guess like some people get botox in their jaws to stop lockjaw). If they don't go away with traditional remedies like medicine and diet changes, etc., you might want to ask a doctor about it. I am not sure how common it is.

THey can't fire you for medical reasons WHat does your neurologist say? Did he say you can take time off for it cause that would be a different story

Same here and that is my remedy for them - except for the hot rag - I use a cold one and no pergogesic....
It does work!!!

Someone told me once to drink apple juice when you feel one coming on. I tried it once and it did work but that could also be coincedence.

Re: migranies
I feel your pain! I have had migraines since 11 yrs of age and the whole blindness aura thing about 30 minutes prior to the onset of the pain. I find that if I take Imitrex as soon as I notice I'm losing my vision it does prevent the pain from setting in. Don't feel normal, but at least I can get through the day. It takes about 1 hr for my vision to correct itself. (that is the most annoying part).

Re: migranies
I feel you rpain. Ive been getting them since 6th grade and they are horrible!!! Im sorry that you cant go home. Have you tried using pressre points to help open the vessels back up? If you get someone to squeeze really really hard using their thumb and the finger next to it (gosh what is that finger called)on the fleshy part of your hand between your thumb and that next finger sometimes the pain will ease up. It hurts and thats how you know they are squeezing hard enough.
Did that make any sense?
