Mike's sister Called and said Her her hubby and their 4 kids are going to Tennesse or Georgia. They just moved to Boynton Beach. Mikes Brother is in Jupiter and we aren't sure where he is going. Mikes mom and Grandparents are going to the High School for shelter (they are in Boca Raton) and My Brother who is in Deerfield Beach hasn't called. Im not sure what he is doing but it is to late to call him now. Please pray.

Most of the residents who were told to leave were in South Florida - 300,000 in Palm Beach County, 250,000 in Broward County and 320,000 in Miami-Dade County.

My brother is in Broward. And my SIL is in Palm Beach.

With its 145 mph winds, Frances is as strong as Hurricane Charley, and it's twice the size, said Stephen Baig, a forecaster at the National Hurricane Center in Miami. Frances was also about twice the size of 1992's Hurricane Andrew, the Category 5 storm that destroyed much of southern Miami-Dade County.

France could become a Category 5 with winds of 156 mph or higher by the time it makes landfall, forecasters said.

My sicko brother just called from Ft. Lauderdale to say goodbye. Is he nuts? He said schools and businesses there are all closed today. Most gas stations are already out of gas and you couldn't find a piece of plywood in any store!

My sister and her family are in Palm Beach. They just boarded up the house and shop.
Shes supposed to be on a flight here Friday evening to come home for her best friends bachelorett party on Sat!

I'm thinking she may not make it!

He owns three houses, thus has tenants and wants to make sure they are okay. He's a sicko but has a heart! My mom works at the Marriott in Boca. She was told to come to work with a suitcase!

The firm I work for has an office in Boca, they closed it up early today.

He also has a vette. Slower than mine but he has to protect his investment! j/k

It's a good thing that she stay at the hotel. It's a little inland and is all concrete.

Just spoke with my dad. He lives further up north. The eye is tracking to go over his house. He won't leave! Thick Headed!!!

Thick Headed. As of 10 minutes ago. Mikes brother isn't leaving (jupiter) Mikes mom and grandparents decided not to leave(Boca Raton) and my brother (deerfield beach) probably won't leave. He is married has a son and a step daughter. And also has no money.... His wife works at Wal mart and probably wont get off and he is a supervisor for AAA towing in Ft Lauderdale. So I am sure he will have to work or at least be on call.

ETA : My brother is like less then a 1/2 mile from the beach.

We are not all the same. As I said my vette is faster than his! He needs to work his motor! That's if he has a car to work on after Saturday.

So, I guess we sit back and wait till Saturday to see what happens. If the forecast is like any other they'll have 1/4 inch of rain with a slight breeze!

I'll be praying for your family, my family and everyone else's family. My dad just moved down there TWO days ago, just got the keys to his new apartment, while their house is being built. The woman who owns the apartment told him, I wouldn't stay here if I were you, these apartments are made of wood and will flatten fast. Great!! My dad was trying to get in touch with the movers, who are supposed to be bringing all their stuff tomorrow!! I am a nervous freaking wreck. I did not want him to move!!!

Ready for the funny part to this: Frances is my Grandmothers name. She past a way a few years back, well, she would have been so upset if my dad moved to Florida and now, two days after my dad arrives in Florida, Hurricane Frances, my grandmother, is there to greet him!!

My mom, brother, aunt, uncle, cousins and grandma are in Boca - but more inland. My other aunt and uncle are in Jupiter and are going to evacuate to my mom's in Boca. My aunt just IM'ed me and told me that my brother waited on line this morning for three hours!!!! to get a propane tank. I keep trying my mom but can' t get in touch with her anywhere!

This is what Mikes mother just Imed me. The part about her parents is B.S. I can't stand her anyway (not for this but for what she pulled at the wedding)

ME: Why are u online. Arent you gonna go somewhere for shelter?
HER: No
ME: no what?
HER: No so far I am not going to any shelter. I have to worry about my parents.
ME:: Yeah So why arent u taking ure parents to a shelter with u?
ME: it's going to be really bad. They said it's double the size of andrew. And headed right for u.
HER: They do not want to go
ME: Well make them go.
ME: it is dangerous for u and them to stay there.
HER: Can you make your parents do what you want
ME: If It was a matter of their house falling down around them yes,
HER: We are not in a low land and we are in a place that is well built

UMMMM HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her husband (who lives here but that is a whole other story) Told her yesterday to goto a shelter.

My aunt and uncle just evacuated to the west cost. Their home is in St. Lucie. I think it is going to be really bad for them! My uncle couldn't even board up the place b/c he has such a bad back (spends 18-20 hours per day in bed, even with heavy meds). I'm worried for them but hope they are safer on the west coast.

Thats what they are forecasting. My parents condo is in Jupiter, they are wondering if they will still ahve aplace to retire to next year.

My dad is sitting in traffic too. The girl at the apartment they were supposed to be getting told them not to sign the lease and didn't give them the keys, she said that the place might not hold up. So, my dad and stepmother are in Georgia right now they are heading back up to North Carolina to stay at my stepbrothers house. They are totally exhausted having been in the car for days now. They were thanking me endlessly for making them a care package before they left filled with 3 bags of homemade cookies, candy, crackers, and gum. They said it has been their survival bag!! I am just thankful that they got out of Florida. Now they have to worry about their house that is being built. They finally started it, but if the storm hits where they think it will, whatever they did on their house will be destroyed. They also are keeping in contact with the movers. They told them not to bring the stuff til at least Sunday. I feel so bad for them. They are basically living out of their car. This has to be one of the worst moves anyone has ever made!!
