Mikes mom and Grandparents are going to the High School for shelter (they are in Boca Raton) and My Brother who is in Deerfield Beach hasn't called. Im not sure what he is doing but it is to late to call him now. Please pray.

WHen I spoke to my mom and asked her why she and my bro weren't going to shelters she said that they are not allowed to now because they are so full with people who live in trailers and mobile homes.

My uncle doesn't think his million dollar house is going to make it because it was built pre-Hurricane Andrew and isn't reinforced the way that they built a lot of the houses after that.

My mom was also telling me that there is no more plywood left so they didn't board up any of the windows and she and my brother were discussing who would go to what in the family 'just' in case something happened!!!

This is so upsetting. My stubborn father refused to buy plywood too. I'm going to be in Massachussetts all weekend for a wedding that I'm in and it's going to be hard for me to concentrate on the event knowing my parents, friends, and aunt are in the midst of a hurricane. Esp. bc I know I won't be able to touch base with them bc last time, their cells didn't even work. I'm always away when this happens, last time in Europe, this time in Massachussetts. I guess it wouldn't make a difference if I was home, but it would just make me feel better.

Re: Mikes whole Family had to Evacuate Florida.

My Brother Called and said. They closed both their jobs. My Brother is a supervisor for AAA towing and His wife works in a super Wal mart im shocked that they closed both their jobs. I would think that my brother would have to work. And also his wife who works in Walmart which also has a supermarket and sells Flash Lights batteries ETC.. I would think that they would be open but they arent they closed. Makes me a little more worried.

Where are they in Florida?

They live in Barefoot Bay, a small community near Sebastion (sp?), but they went to stay with my Aunt and Uncle in Vero beach, but it looks like Vero's getting hit too! We haven't heard from them, so I don't know what's going on...

I think Vero Beach is going to get hit. They said that it is slowing down and weaking they said it is a category 3 now.

If you guys want to tell me what town your family lives in, I will figure out the county they are in and give you what to expect.

For anyone who has family in the Orlando Area that lives in Orange County here is the latest:

I am working on getting a map like this for the miami/west palm area.

Re: Mikes whole Family had to Evacuate Florida.

on Local6 news down in Orlando, they are stating that Orlanod is going to get the weaker winds rather then the 100mph they orignally anticipated...They say the new track is vero beach & points west, but Orlando may be spared with the intense winds....

I am watching the orlando news right now and they just stated that it will be 80mph with gusts up to 100.
Like I said before the problem with the orlando area (and a lot of otehr areas as well) is that we still have damage to our homes and debris in our neighborhoods from Charley which is what is making it look not so hot for us.
