MIL= trouble

MIL= trouble

...just venting, don't mind me....

So my wedding coordinator, Linda, at the venue was being a big pain in my a$$....she's been difficult to talk to, she says one thing and later denies it, she REFUSES to speak with us through email probably so that there's nothing in writing that we can bring back to her attention.... We had an issue with the room for our cocktail hr/ceremony. This room comes with the room I chose for my reception and its based on the # of people it accomodates...blah blah blah... I personally did not like the room from the start (it was also a very tight fit for my guests) and I made that known and the plan always was that we were going to see what was available closer to the date and I'd have my pick of any rooms that were left.
Now, Linda has been saying 'Contact me by the summer' then 'Call me at the 2 month mark' and she's been disappointing us, denying us certain rooms for no real reason and constantly changing her mind for the past 3 months. Its not a HUGE deal, but I'm planning from across the country. I CAN'T go down there in person and get a straight answer, so she's definitely made this process more stressful. But FINALLY, she said by 10/15 she could give us a YES OR NO (don't know why she couldn't have just been up front from the beginning and told us by that date she would know), and we got the room! yaaay.... anyway.....

I find out my mother in law has been emailing her and basically, thanking her by bashing US!!! Saying stuff like 'they're too young and selfish to understand how the world really works'......***, really?

His exact words were 'She's so f-ing two faced sometimes' , she does this sort of thing. We went through something really horrible with a very good friend of ours back in April, she got involved in it, basically just to dig for info from us and then ran back to 2 of her close friends saying 'OMG I can't wait to tell you what happened...' I was HORRIFIED.

I know I can't say anything and it honestly would only blow up in my face if I did...but geez! So unnecessary! We have this sort of relationship where she thinks everything is fine, but I REALLY dislike her.

We got the Colonial Skylight for the reception and the Nantucket for the ceremony/cocktail hour. I know its reversed, but we loved the Colonial the most and the room that came with it was uncomfortably small for even 50 people and we have almost 90.

Yeah, I'll definitely stick around to show everything!!!! The good thing is, anytime someone hears I'm getting married there they always rave about how good the food is.

Yes the food is so good - Best mango salmon I have ever had - we saw nicer places - but Coral House had the best food - and the best look for a vintage wedding which is my theme :)

Are you going to ask them to remove that hideous floral arrangement at the entrance so you can use that table as your escort table? I think I am going to demand they take it down for our wedding lol.
