I am under $20,000 for my wedding. I ended up going for a smaller affair and opted for a cocktail package. We did not find a place with a military discount. I am the queen of budget so i really did my homework. Hoping everything turns out good.
You probably won't find a lot of venue's that do a mil discount, but I found lots of other vendors that did! Some of the photo/video places I talked to went up to 10% off. Because I'm military I let my venue know that right away and they were very helpful when I thought I was going to have to cancel or Postpone due to a deployment. Luckily the deployment got moved back and everything stayed the same but they were on the ball. Just ask around and don't be afraid to ask.
I actually got an AMAZING deal. My friends who were stationed in the naval base in Guan had their wedding at Ariana Waterfall. They booked everything over the phone. We were so impressed with the wedding that we booked right after theirs. They also have unbelievable packages that include EVERYTHING photographer, videographer, DJ, MC, limo & flowers. They gave us a $1000 credit of the package price when we booked. We are saving a fortune AND they only have one wedding at a time so the entire place is ours!

We didn't come across any vendors that were unwilling to work with us in terms of price and flexibility of contract. Most venues discounted the per person price and threw in extras, simply because FH is in the military. Additionally, other vendors were extremely accommodating.
ALL of our vendors have generously put a clause in our contracts that would allow us to reschedule if FH got deployed.
Honestly, if a vendor is not willing to work with you (in terms of the contract or price) simply because you are military they don't deserve your business.

Our hall and all of our vendors gave us discounts and Fh and I aren't even military we're volunteer fire fighters. It would be a MAJOR turn off for me if a vendor wasnt willing to do anything to work with us.

could you FM me which vendors you booked that worked with you on price? our top choice photog won't work with us at alland only one DJ said they could work in a military discount.
we've also asked all vendors about rescheduling should FH deploy (which they have all agreed to do) but i keep thinking what if they won't all line up on a certain date again? the photog we are thinking of said we would still lose our deposit
I remember Watermill asking us if either of us were in the military (we're not) when we were looking there.. I assume they would have given a discount had we said yes since they asked.. Check them out :)

I would think most would give a discount, when we were shopping for an RH we asked if they gave one for NYPD at all and the ones we looked at said they would. You just need to ask, and mention to them the ones that will and they might be inclined to give one as well to match the other places. GL
