military/cops eta: michi story

was ur SO in the military or a cop when u started dating?? did u consider this a problem?? how did u handle this?? any inisight is helpful

hmmmmm do you have a story to tell us? My friends husband at the time fiance had to go to Kosovo ..it was hard really really hard for her but she got through it now he is home and they are married with a baby.

lol oh a michi story?? lol no no real story..i was dating someone for about a month..it just ended badly..LOL...off to the next one i suppose lol

How do I handle it????? as best I can, lol!

He is away a lot and its not fun, its very hard, lots of lonely nights :(

my boyfriend before my husband was a cop/marine. I come from a family of cops so I was used to him working nights, working holidays. We made it work though.

Yup DH and I met in the military while stationed in Japan. It was very tough since for the first 2 years we were together we were apart more than we wer together. But we made it through.

hi hun! well i dont know if hes a prospect.. lol..there is a guy im talking to..and he wants to go on a date.. b4 i said yes tho i wanna make sure i know what im getting into ya know.. bcause he said many women have left him after they hear what kinda work he does and he doesnt want that again in the future.. i thinkhes cool so i might go out on the date but i try to think ahead just so i dont hurt any1 ya know:) the guy i was dating for the last month ended very very badly lol....men r such shmucks i swear, it makes me just wanna kill them all sometimes lol!!!!

threw someone at my job..hes in the army..i work with the coast guard..just kinda happened lol..he seems nice ya know..and life is kinda bleh lately so i def. think i will give it a chance..hes a sweet guy so it seems lol

i think the red flag is not that he is cop/military personnel, but rather that he has already disclosed that 'many women have left him'. whether that is true or not, i would not be giving up that type of information to someone i would be interested in pursuing...

go on the date! it's a date and take it for what it's worth...good luck!

I can see some people turned off my a man with a dangerous job. I was not really fond when my ex decided to enlist in the C.G. Nor that he might have gone for NYPD. It's scarey to think about someone you care about being taken from you in the line of work

one of DH's best friends is a cop and i honestly don't know how he and his wife manage, but they do! he loves to work nights and his wife works during the day, so they hardly ever see each other. DH's friend had the option of switching to a day shift which he did for a while but HATED it. so now his wife is switching careers so she has more flexibility to see him, they are making it work!

as far as the safety issue is concerned, i personally don't know how i would handle it...
