Miller Place Inn Appointment

Hi - I have an appointment tonight at the Miller Place Inn. Can anyone tell me anything about it? I saw some past posts, but any info anyone has would be great. I never heard of it until today, but it looks gorgeous on the website.

Since I strive to be the queen of honesty, I'll answer what I think.

I went to a wedding there in October 2004.

The main meal food was AMAZING.. they came around after you ate and offered you more steak/chicken/salmon.. Ive never seen that before. The cocktail hour food was ok, the space they use for cocktail hour was a bit crowded and they do it mostly buffet style. The Viennese hour was awwwesssome. Tons of desserts that were really really good.

Now, I gotta say, as far as atmosphere it was not my taste at all. The ballroom seemed a little outdated and the decor was weird to me. Everything just seemed dated, and not in an 'old fashioned antique' way but in a 'we need to renovate' way.

That was 2004 though.

I like the more modern, simple decor so maybe that helps put my mini-review here into perspective.

I arrived at night so I didnt even get to appreciate the outside!!

Again, it could be totally different from when I was there. Dont let what I said guide you too much.. if its YOUR place, you'll just know it!!

I booked the MPI and I absolutely love the decor, so I guess its a matter of personal preference. We are having a smaller wedding, so I think the space will be the perfect size for us. Christopher was great when we met with him and I was in a wedding there several years ago and it was the best wedding I have been to! HTH Good luck, let us know how it goes.

My mother went to a few weddings there and loved it. (recently). She suggested ot for us and we are going to look. She raved about the food and liked the atmosphere. Good luck.

Well, I just came back from it and it had it's pros and cons. I'm going to continue my search. The biggest con for me is how far it is. I didn't realize!!! Beautiful garden outside though!
