Milleridge Inn vs. GWM

Okie, I'm on a roll ladies...sorry for all the posts. I seem to remember reading more negative things about Milleridge Inn (i.e. dealing with the staff) than GWM, though I'm sure neither of them are big on negotiations. Fine by me in that respect, because I think their packages are great. Can anyone tell me more about the two? Thanks! Lisa

P.S. I'm talking about the Carriage House.

(fixed it in case anyone is wondering what the heck I'm talkin' about)

Re: Milleridge Inn vs. GWM

I went to a wedding at GWM. It was beautiful. The wedding I went to was in December and they decorated soooo nice for the holidays. Milleridge is also nice. There where I few things I did not like when I visited there. But I did like the wedding I went to there.

Re: Milleridge Inn vs. GWM

I think what I like about Milleridge is the village, though I've yet to see it with my own eyes. GWM would be my choice if we could have the upstairs room (won't meet the minimum by a lot)...if I have to choose between the smaller room at each place I like Milleridge better I think. Not crazy about all the president pictures at GWM. What didn't you like about Milleridge?

Re: Milleridge Inn vs. GWM

I have been to weddings at both and think they were both wonderful! It is definitely hard to say which one was better.
My friend was married at the GWM in December -- the room was gorgeous (I love having all the windows), the service was perfect and the food was terrific!! She didn't have to go over board and over additional menu items or a major dessert hour because the portions were big!
The Milleridge is also beautiful. If you are getting married during a warm month you can have your cocktail hour inside and outside...this would be great if you are having a lot of people but if your numbers are small it may be too big. The food and service was also excellent!!
I'm actually looking at the Milleridge myself (GWM isn't big enough for the number of guests that I'm having)...if you don't mind me asking, how much were you quoted? For what month? I'm looking at some time btw May and Sept of 2007. I'm going to see it this saturday so any info would be great! THANKS and good luck - you really can't make a bad choice they are both great!

Re: Milleridge Inn vs. GWM

Hi! We'll probably have to go with the smaller rooms at Milleridge or GWM because our party is smaller. I like the larger rooms better and the Cottage at Milleridge is gorgeous! We're also looking at September 2007.

I'm a little annoyed with GWM because when I called a few months back I was told September's 95 person minimum was negotiable for the larger room with windows...now of course they say it's not. I like Milleridge's smaller room better and the fact that they are capable of having cocktail hour outside. But to tell you the truth all the digging I did on GWM got nothing but positive responses and Millridge doesn't seem to get as high a score with food. There were positives of course, but more negatives than I cared for.

Anyway, they sent me a standard package with all this info...what day/time are you looking at?
