Mineral Make-up?

Mineral Make-up?

I never wear make-up but I hate how uneven my complexion is looking lately. I was thinking of trying those mineral make-ups that I see advertisements for, but I rarely trust commercials.

Does anyone use this stuff on a daily basis? Does it really help? How long does it take to apply.

I use bare minerals on a daily basis. I love it! It looks natural and it feels like you are not wearing any make-up. The only negative part is that it runs out so fast. I feel like everyone month I need to get more make-up.

I use Bare Minerals. I can never go back to using foundation and other cover ups.

It doesn't take very long to apply and it's a very natural look. They have a store in Roosevelt Field (if that's close to you). You can go in there and have them put it on you. It's not very hard but they show you what to do & give you directions.

I use it every day.

How long does it take to apply? Can I just apply it in the morning in like 2 minutes with a quick brush across the face?

I use bare minerals daily (or anytime I wear makeup during the day). I like it, but I dont think it covers blemishes or evens my skin tone super well- fine for daytime- but if I am going out at night I need something thats covers better. Love their mascara though!

i think I just spend 2-3 minutes putting the 2 powders on. It's just before you apply powder you have to use a mostiorizer on you face so it takes better.

They also offer a primer to put on but you don't need it.

I use it...and love it!! I don't normally have bad skin but this helps to even out my freckle patches and oily t-zone. Also, since its all natural, if you happen to fall asleep in it, it doesn't cause problems the next day!!

There is a store in Roosevelt Field that carries it...as does Sephora and Ulta. Sometimes one of them has a sale, and Ulta sometimes has coupons in their Sunday paper flyer.

Re: Mineral Make-up?

I used to use bare minerals for several years and I thought it was great. For some reason though, about a year ago, my skin started reacting oddly to it. I think my skin just sort of changed as I got older and I found it better to switch to a different makeup (clinique, although I also use SK-II for fancier events on top to give more of an airbrush look).

But I think it is definitely worth going to get a trial at a bare minerals store. My mom also loves it and her skin tone is very uneven.

There are different brands our there. Are you all talking about the same one - Bare Minerals? Is that different from Bare Escentuals?

I use Bare Escentuals and I love it. I have been using it for over 3 years now and will never go back to liquid foundation. They have a store upstairs in Roosvelt Field Mall.

thanks. You've all been really helpful. I guess I'll try and get to Roosevelt Field this weekend.

Same thing.

I think bare escentuals is the name of the company, and the line of makeup is bare minerals. bare escentuals also makes skin care products, bath stuff, etc. you can see all the stuff once you go to the store.

I think they can even do your wedding day make up if you wanted.... if i'm not mistaken, I remember a girl on here that said she was thinking of using one of their make up artist.

Re: Mineral Make-up?

I was turned onto bare minerals by a girl here on the board.

I have very sensitive skin and I can't use anything on my face, so I was a bit hesitant at first. After applying the makeup and wearing it all day and NOT breaking out, I knew it was a good thing.

I use it everyday, and as the day goes on it sort of blends into your skin more, so it looks even better throughout the day. It only takes me about 5 minutes to apply it in the morning. I use the Light foundation with spf, and then some of the radiance on my cheeks, (I have red cheeks as it is, and this stuff makes it look so soft and just the right touch of color to your skin) , then I use my mineral veil and I am good to go. :)

You should deff try it :)

I use everyday minerals. It takes 15 seconds to apply and I'm done!

everydayminerals.com has free sample kits you can order (just pay shipping of $2 or $3) so you can try different shades.

hey girl I'm actually the Lead Trainer/Artist for the Bare Escentuals botique in Queens (which yes, is the same as Bare Minerals..'escentuals' is the store and 'minerals' is the product ) feel free to FM me with ANY questions!

I also use the Bare Minerals. Don't buy the one on TV, it is not the same one you get at Sephora. Get a foundation (ie, fairly light, light, etc) and then I recommend the bisque (which is a bit less shear - more for covering up spots) and also the 'warmth' which is like a really natural-looking blush.
