Mineral Make-up?

Original post by TheLadyJ

I never wear make-up but I hate how uneven my complexion is looking lately. I was thinking of trying those mineral make-ups that I see advertisements for, but I rarely trust commercials.

Does anyone use this stuff on a daily basis? Does it really help? How long does it take to apply.

I started using it cause cover-up was just suffocating my skin.

I had really bad acne out of no where for months and was put on Acutane. Once that whole thing was done my doctor advised I let my skin breathe & avoid using anything that would clog it. She turned me on to bare minerals. I've been using it now for almost a year & love it. It's not greasy or heavy... I don't feel like I am wearing anything.

So easy to use and it looks and feels great! I've turned a lot of friends & co-workers on to it.

I could never go back to foundation cover up

I also use the Bare Minerals. Don't buy the one on TV, it is not the same one you get at Sephora. Get a foundation (ie, fairly light, light, etc) and then I recommend the bisque (which is a bit less shear - more for covering up spots) and also the 'warmth' which is like a really natural-looking blush.

I dont really reccomend ordering off the tv or internet either..the products are all the same, but honestly it's tough to really get ur true shade & such & really see what YOU need personally.. they do sell it in sephora, but honestly i would try and go to an actual Bare Escentuals boutique if u can. Even if u have a natural knack for makeup, the product really is so different than from other stuff & has a certain technique to it...the BE girls are trained solely on this product & will really go through everything step by step with u. There's a location in manhattan, queens, roosevelt field, and they just opened one in Smithhaven last month (ps: u also get a ton of discounts & perks for shopping in the actual boutiques )
