I've been thinking about converting to Bare Escentuals or some type of mineral makeup b/c it's supposed to be so good for your skin. I have oily skin though and am wondering how mineral makeup holds up if you have oily skin and large pores. Is there anyone out there with experience in mineral makeup?
Thanks!

Re: mineral makeup
I've been using bare minerals for a while now and I love it! I don't feel like I have a ton of makeup on my face which is really important to me. It stays on all day too.

Re: mineral makeup
I switched to bare minerals last year. It doesnt clog my pores like other makeup.
I have been using bareMinrals for a few yrs and I love it. For day of make up I am using Jillian from Gorgeous faces and she uses mineral makeup also, Jane Iredale, it better, but you can only get it thru a vendor... Jillian sells it... It is awesome...

I have oily skin just like you....it doesnt clog my pores...occasionally i do get shiny in the t zone but i have my oil blot sheets for that....by mid afternoon i am always shining...but there is no make up that can really make that not happen

Re: mineral makeup
I use bare minerals. I have oily skin, but I feel it gets less oily than with liquid foundation. I carry some of the sheer powder for lunch time touch ups. My skin is so much less broken out now too.

Yay, I love when I actually get responses on this board
So, additional questions:
Does it really hide imperfections or does it generally just give you a nice glow?
and..
Camerakrazie, did you end up booking your day-of makeup with a mineral makeup person? I had seen your trial pics at one point and thought you looked incredible!

Re: mineral makeup
I have found what works for me is just the foundation (BE)--I don't like warmth or bisque (the concealer) or mineral veil. Mineral veil has something in it that makes my skin itch.
Anyway, I have the kabuki brush and also the small concealer brush. First, I apply the foundation with the kabuki, then go in again using the foundation to the small brush to do under my eyes. It will cover blemishes....but only if your skin is normal with slight breakout. If you have 'bad' skin...I think BE is just too light. Overall, my skin is fairly normal with some breakout and it does the job. It feels very light and gives a nice little glow.

Re: mineral makeup
I use it and don't use any other make up (except for the wedding).
There is a store in Roosevelt Field Mall. They can do application of make up. You could ask them.
I noticed that it goes away a bit if I sweat (I really have dry skin).
I personally would never switch back to liquid foundation.

Definitely go to the store and let them do it for u..its free!! my cousin gina is the manager there so I know she does a great job if u wana ask for her,...personally ive been using it for a while and i can tell the difference in my skin...im not as shiny and i break out less....and the few times i sleep with it on (aka pass out lol) my skin isnt a mess the next day...i hate wearing foundation so the mineral veil works good for me...definitely try it!

I agree. I bought one of the 'starter kits' so I have a refillable compact that came with it...so I put 'mineral veil' in it and dab that on for the shine throughout the day when I remember. My nose has kind of large pores I think...I could be wrong..but my nose is very oily...and I think I do. I do love the light feeling...it feels like nothing...one day my eye hurt and I started rubbing it really hard and removed my hand and remembered that I had on eye makeup...cause now it was all over my hand and face.
