I've been thinking about converting to Bare Escentuals or some type of mineral makeup b/c it's supposed to be so good for your skin. I have oily skin though and am wondering how mineral makeup holds up if you have oily skin and large pores. Is there anyone out there with experience in mineral makeup?
Thanks!

Yay, I love when I actually get responses on this board
So, additional questions:
Does it really hide imperfections or does it generally just give you a nice glow?
and..
Camerakrazie, did you end up booking your day-of makeup with a mineral makeup person? I had seen your trial pics at one point and thought you looked incredible!
It does hide imperfections...I have red scarring from a severe break out in March right before I switched...when I wear the makeup, I get to spend the entire day looking flawless. And I used a BE girl for my wedding...she did a phenomenal job and I didn't really feel like I had on all that much makeup but in reality, I had on tons (my face had been sunburned and was peeling, she even managed to hide the peeling!!!)! I swear by the stuff.

Re: mineral makeup
My cousin swears by this. She makes me buy her it when I go to visit her - She lives in Poughkeepsee. What's with the smell of the store though? Thats what turns me off!!!!! I use the face wash stuff and I love it - bought it from sephora

I use it and don't use any other make up (except for the wedding).
There is a store in Roosevelt Field Mall. They can do application of make up. You could ask them.
I noticed that it goes away a bit if I sweat (I really have dry skin).
I personally would never switch back to liquid foundation.
which store are you talking about, i was thinking of going to sephora
oh silly me i just looked online and saw they have a store there, i never realized it before, i think i'm gonna go tomorrow

Re: mineral makeup
I have been using bare minerals for about 4yrs I am addicted!! It is amazing It feels so light like you are wearing nothing at all
I have tons of eye shadows, blushes, face colors & brigteners-EVERYTHING And Ive gotten friends& family addicted too My mom LOVES IT!
you never run out of anything except foundation & mineral in due time....since you use that daily
you need so little so it lasts!!!
I rarely even reapply during the day--sometimes Ill reapply the mineral veil if I feel really hot-like in the summer otherwise no..
FOr me it lasts & doesnt come off easily..I have sensitive combo skin
you def need a light moisturizer under it for sure let it absorb before you apply
I LOVE dove sensitive skin moisturizer its VERY light & it goes right in
I used to also use a primer under the makeup as well Either smashbox primer or what I liked better from QVC was Laura Gellar's primer called spackle it was lighter than the smashbox
but for the past yr. I stopped using the primer..it depends on your skin
I dont feel that the makeup comes off easily if you do--then try a primer
I can only say how AWESOME this line is I would NEVER EVER go back to yucky liquid makeup again
any ques FM me

They have their actual store on the 2nd level. You don't have to go to Sephora.
They have a display of ALL their line. Free demo of make-up, etc.
In addition, the ladies there are super nice.

Re: mineral makeup
I've been using it since about May and I love it! It has lasted me since then too and I have so much left still. It is definately worth the money. And I bought the started kit so the containers are smaller. I didn't realize there were makeup people that use it for the wedding day but now I will look into it!

Re: mineral makeup
I do not normally wear make up however, I used Bare Minerals for my wedding day.
It was really light and I did not even feel like I had make up on – which was a concern of mine. The product line is really not made for ethnic skin (not a lot of colors that suit darker skin tones) but we managed to use the foundation (Deep) and face powder (Warmth). The photo effect is a kind of glow – it’s reflective. I have no idea how that works but I really like the way the make up photographs – not like I was wearing a mask or anything like some products look. I suppose that on lighter skin the Bare Minerals reflective aspect can have a wash out effect so I recommend having your face done (Sephora carries the brand) prior to buying any of these products.
