Re: mini-moon ideas
I am doing my HM for under 3K. We are doing a southern Carribean cruise. Its definately doable as a HM not just a mini-moon

ETA: I didnt read the no cruise part sorry
A cruise for sure! That can def be under 3,000. You can catch a ship leaving out of NYC (no airfare). Carnival is a lil cheaper than the other lines. I personal Roayal Carib! Make sure to get a balcony room

try the paradisus resorts or the Sol Melia resorts--- they have locations in mexico, DR,, Costa Rica
very affordable...very romantic and very pretty!
if u truly want a mini moon and not a full HM
try Montauk
or Newport Rhode Island- tons of cute B&Bs very romanticallll! FH & I went there on our 5 year anniversary

3,000 is more than we spend when we go on vacation and we go for 10+ days at a time!!

Paradisius Palma Real in the DR would be perfect for a mini-moon.

we did.. and we both fell in love with one of the resorts/suites.. I THOUGHT it was $3200... yea no, I'm an idiot and didn't put the correct suite.. the one we want is over $10,000. we do want a private pool or at least hot tub or something. that's what I need for HIM so he agrees to go somewhere warm. he wants to HM in ALASKA or GREENLAND... he HATES the heat, so in order for him to go somewhere warm we have to have a pool.. thats not a community pool. I should have mentioned that... and that is where we're having a hard time finding something in our price range.
thanks ladies, I'll check them all out. (keep the suggestions coming)

Re: mini-moon ideas
Bermuda! That's where I got engageed. You can fly jetblue there and back for $89. We stayed in a 4 start resort for only a couple hundred a night. The only way you blow your money in Bermuda is on food - dining out is expensive. There's not a ton to do there but hey - if you're just looking to relax and not spend a lot it's good.
BUT check the weather! Since your wedding is in Oct it's possible the weather might be really cool there seeing as how it's not that far south.

Why would you think of going on a Disney cruise for your HM if you don't want to deal with children?

it was a joke. i really want to go on the disney cruise, but I dont want to spend my HM with kids... so maybe when we have kids we'll do it.
