I'm looking for a romantic spot on LI or in NYC for a mini-moon for FH and I. We won't go on our actual honeymoon until March 2013, but we really want to spend a few days somewhere after our wedding to celebrate our wedded bliss Any recommendations on where to stay would be greatly appreciated! I don't live on LI anymore and I'm not sure where to go! Thank you so much!

Re: Mini-moon recommendations
You could go out east. I don't know if you like the wineries? Its very peaceful out there. They also have some great restaurants. I never stayed in the city. I've gone there for concerts and juniors. They do a day or two night cruises in ny. What about atlantic city?

Not sure if you are looking to hide out, or looking for a beach location....
You could check out Oheka, Glen Cove Mansion or East Wind Inn and Spa.
Or
You could head out to the Hamptons or Montauk for a few days.

Re: Mini-moon recommendations
I'm surprising FH with a mini moon the weekend after we get married because we can't take our honeymoon until Dec. (getting married in Oct. next year). I'm going to book the weekend at Oheka Castle. It's beautiful and romantic.

Re: Mini-moon recommendations
DH and I were originally going to do this as well since our honeymoon is a month after our wedding. We were going to go up to Foxwoods or Mohegan and spend a few days, maybe get a spa treatment. I don't know Long Island too well, but why not get a nice hotel in the city, you can go eat at some great restaurants and hit TKTS and go see a broadway show.

Re: Mini-moon recommendations
Out east definitely the type of atmosphere I'm looking for. Montauk or the wineries would be great. We're looking for some good food, wine, and relaxation before we have to drive home and head back to work Can anyone recommend some places to stay in that area?

Re: Mini-moon recommendations
The American Hotel in Sag Harbor is awesome. Right on Main Street in the quaint village. Beaches and vineyards are a short drive.
