Mini-moon then a honeymoon next year???

SOOOO planning a honeymoon has been the most difficult thing FH and I have ever done... everytime I think we're set on something we come up with some other idea and start back at square one.... Our biggest issue is my severe lack of vacation time and with having 100 other weddings (OK so 7) I am going to need to take other days off during the year and 10 days definitely doesn't go that far...

Should we just do a week long mini-moon so I'll only need 5 days off and then next year when everyone and their mother is already married and I don't need to take a ton of time off we can take our actual honeymoon for an extended period of time? Or do you think that takes something away from it?

Or should I just **** it up and take some extra time off 'no-pay'???

i spent saturday at 'work' planning out our itinerary for ours

um, its like 3 pages long

as in

10:00 do this
12:00 do this

take this train here, it costs this much

FH and I are in the middle of planning our South African honeymoon and I think you'll need more than a week -- depending on what you want to do. You lose one day just flying there.

FH and I are planning to go for 2 1/2 weeks.

FH wont get paid for time off (he's in construction...so no money if you dont work)...but I'm figuring we can use some of the wedding money (if we have to) to make up for him not making any money for two weeks.

I got the South Africa idea from you!!!! FH thought I was nuts at first but now he's all gung-ho!!!

FH thought I was crazy, too!! But he's on board now. If you decide to go, let me know your plans. I'm seriously having the hardest time deciding what to do and see. I thought I had my whole trip planned...but I keep changing my mind on where to go and stay!!

OMG!!! I know there are so many things to choose from!!! I work with a guy whose wife is from South Africa and he was giving me all of these recommendations and I think I would need a month to do it all!!! LOL! But I would definitely want to do a photo safari and stay on a game reserve like the Sabi Sabi Lodges for a few days and go to the winelands... and the beaches are beautiful too... at this rate it'll be the day before our wedding and we'll still have no idea where we're going...

We are definitely staying in a game lodge for 4 nights, 4 nights in Cape Town and 2 nights in the winelands. I am going back and forthe between hotels. My biggest challenge is the beach part of the trip. I was set on Mozambique, but it's SOOO expensive. So now I cant decide between Mauritius, Mozambique...or stay local and go to Hermanus

That sounds perfect!!! You're WAY ahead of me... just send me your itinerary and we'll just go on your trip!!! I am WAY too indecisive with this HM planning!!!
