Mini response card rant

So, the response cards have started to come in! So far, there are far more 'yes' than 'no' but here's the thing..

Is it just me or do/would you find it a little off-putting when someone just writes '0' or 'None' (our response asks for number attending)? I know they don't owe me an explanation as to why they're not coming, but if it was me, I would write on the card 'Wish we could be there! Congratulations!' or 'So sorry we'll miss it' etc. And who am I kidding... I would love to know WHY they're not coming. lol

I know everyone can't come, but it's such a letdown to get a 'no'... especially when I stalk the mailbox all day for the responses to arrive.

Rant finished :)

You are not alone. I always write something on a response card, even when replying yes. I feel its just nice to do. I also want to know why someone is saying no. :)

I agree. I helped my sister plan her wedding in 2010 and we got back a bunch of RSVP cards that said that. It's silly. It would be nice to say something like 'congrats, sorry I can't make it, my cat is having surgery, etc.' Whatever - but '0' or 'none' is dumb. Don't worry. It'll get easier.

I like at least a best wish or 'sorry we can't come' just so you know you weren't a 'whatever can't come...zero'

I understand!

Mini response card rant

I think whats going to happen to me is that people arnt going to respond on time. I have had this problem in the past for my daughters bday, jewelery party, daughters christening...etc. Im hoping people will be more courteous because its a wedding. Thank God I have a wedding planner to call and harass people lol

I totally understand. A simple 'congatulations!' wouldn't kill anyone.

Thanks, everyone! I've gone from registry stalking to stalking the mailman (and we have don't have a regular mailman here so it's someone different every day and they NEVER come at the same time! lol)
All I know now is if I am ever not able to attend a wedding, I will be sure to always enclose a little note.
