mini review of the most amazing venue
my good friend got married this weekend at Brecknock Hall in Greenport. It was one of the most beautiful weddings we have ever been too. The Hall itself was amazingly beautifl and such a unique place. Not your typical wedding hall at all and has a nice north forky/south fork feeling to it!!! Brecknock hall is an old mansion that has been restored. They got married on the lawn on the steps of the mansion, it was a beautiful backdrop.Cocktail hour was inside so you got to see the mansion in all it's restored glory. Then we partied under the stars (well it rained at the end but stars sounds better ![]()
) in a tent. Being that it was not a typical venue it had to be catered. She used Russ Moran Catering. AWESOME food and service was phenominal!!!! Instead of a cake she had the yummiest cupcakes from Beach Bakery in Westhampton. Her flowers werea mix of flowers in mason jars on each table. She had about 10 mason jars going down teh middle of each table (it was the rectangular tables) and they started in the middle with the biggest and worked it's way down to smallest at either end. Her aunt grew! yes grew! her wedding flowers for her and made all of the arrangements. Couldn't have been prettier! She had a photobooth and a candy buffet as well. And instead of renting china which often has to happen with a tented wedding. she and her mother and now husband went to yard sales all last summer and this past fall and bought china!!! At first I thought she was crazy and didn't know how it would look but it pulled everything together so nicely! She bought all similar patterns in her wedding colors of blue and pink (her colors were acqua and hotter pink) so the lighter blues and pinks accented nicely. It looked amazing and was the perfect touch!!!! She is now having brides who have their weddings after her's at Brecknonck call her asking if they could rent her china from her as it would cost abotu 5 dollars a setting to rent. Brecknock had told other brides what she has done and apparently she has 3 brides lined up who are renting it. Talk about passing it down!
It was a totally awesome wedding! I will try to post pics later. DH brought my camera to work with him today for something and didn't bring it home tonight.
