mini-stupid-dilemma

OK, my mom and I were shopping last week and we saw a dress that looked gorgeous on her. She is a size 14, so she has a problem with getting a nice dress in her size. This dress is perfect for her and we bought it on the spot. It is a Montage Mon Cheri and runs for about $700-800. Which is fine, although she was planning on spending more.

Today, I go with my FMIL to Kleinfeld's because she is a size two, and EVERYTHING looks good on her. She picked out a stunning Pnina Evening dress and because my wedding gown is also Pnina Tornai and also from Kleinfeld's, they gave us a nice 15% discount.

Afterward I call my mom to tell her the good news, and she got a little upset that her dress isn't as expensive as hers but I keep explaining to her that it is just as beautiful.

I just feel bad cuz one mom is a size 2 and the other is a size 14.

=(

And what makes it worse is that I have an amazing relationship with both my fmil and my mother and it would be one thing if i hated my FMIL and then would hate any dress she got..but I love her =(

I'm a little confused..

If I got a dress that looked AMAZING on me and it was cheaper I'd feel like I was the luckier one!

As long as they don't go to your wedding with the pricetag still on the dress, noone will know how much she paid anyway..

Keep reminding your mom of how great she looked in the dress

Sorry your going through this..

Try and reassure her that she is going to look equally as beautiful!

And tell her not to forget that all the attention needs to be on you that day
