I don't agree with bachelor parties that are vacations. I think that is asking for trouble. I have no problem with FH going on vacations but leave the bachelor parties at home. In fact he is leaving me for a whole week on Friday to go camping with his friends.

This seems to be more & more common. My fiance has been to Vegas twice, Montreal, and a dude ranch for bachelor parties. You are right it can get pricey, but it seems to be more common, especially amongst his college friends. His bachelor party is going to be in North Carolina - he wants to go golfing and his family has a house there.

My FI went to his friends bachelor party a few months ago & it was too much. They went to Atlantic City for the weekend & by the time he came home he'd spent $600 ($450 - hotel alone, $65 strip show viewed from 20 rows away, food & about 2 hands of blackjack) After he got home he said he'd never do it again - too much $$ & way too much time & energy. One night is nothing compared to this nonstop rollercoaster the guys seem to go on

Everything is bigger and supposedly better then it used to be but I don't think there's anything wrong with going away for the b-parties. Having it on one night, by the time you get together, have dinner, a couple of drinks or what ever and it's 2:00am. At least with a weekend or overnight you can really hang out. For me it's the sitting around hanging out that's more fun then the going out part sometimes.

I think weekends in Vaegas are fun but a little too much to ask for a Bachelor party

I am going to Vegas for my bachelorette party. For me it is more about getting away with the girls one final time before marriage, babies, etc.... My FI is also doing the same thing with his friends. Realistically at this age when are you ever going to get all your friends together on a vacation at one time. It think it is a great idea and I am so happy for him. He has 15 guys going and yes they are his closest friends, people he has known since he was a kid.

I can totally appreciate the fact that it is $$$ but in my opinion it is worth it if you can swing it.

I must say i don't have a problem with this. I have gone to a few of my friends local weekends away with a bunch of people and we had such a blast. People who can't do it , can't do it....people realize that. IF you or your FI is doing it then they want to go (JMO). Everyone wants to have a good time. I have a bunch of girls (really my bm) going to vegas with me...they were the ones who thought we should go and i agreed. I rather a smaller group because nights out can be expensive to people who might not want to go out with you but feel like they have to.....I would not of minded if anyone said no....I don't think its an issue really. I trust my FH and he has gone away to North Carolina and South BEach and he had such a blast. Its his issue if he wants to go.....if there is an issue with money then maybe you should tell him that you don't want him to go...otherwise...i see no reason for not letting someone go or be upset by it.

I'm totally ok with b-party trips. My FH and I go away once in a while with just the guys or girls, so why not for a b-party? He's going to Vegas with his friends and my friends and I are going to Newport, RI for a long weekend. I know we'll all have a great time and I can't wait.

My FH is planning on going away with his friends for a week to Dom. Rep. Another friend of his is getting married at the end of April, so they're going to do the b-parties together.

ETS: I don't have a problem with it. I also pan on going away.
