Mini-Vent - I hate people

How hard is it to RSVP?
Our due date is tomorrow and we are still missing 46 replies. And to top it all off.......half of these people are people we saw at a wedding 2 Friday's ago and they all said to us...OH you know I'm coming but if you really want I'll mail it on Monday.....
Well we still haven't gotten them!

i think that was the comment that annoyed me the most 'oh you know im coming' really??? do i??? well then why did i send you an invite with a response card in it with a STAMP for you to SEND IT BACK!!!!! lol

we made 'friendly reminder emails' (well FMIL did bc it was all her people who did not respond) to the people who didnt respond a few days before saying just to let you know the response date is in a few days, then we made calls after i got the mail the very next day...i know it was prob too soon, but even though we did that we are now 6 days over our date and we STILL are missing 10 people lol

I sent a few friendly nudges to friends of mine, these are people that emailed me everyday asking when the invites were going out.........HELLO PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! They are out, you got them now make me feel better about spending 42 cents and just mail it back!

Ohh darn, I forgot to RSVP, I can't make it though

seriously though- we had the SAME thing. We even called and left messages for people and they NEVER sent in the cards and NEVER showed (thank God).

But I feel ya- you spent the .42 it costs then nothing!!

But seriously though...I wouldn't be all that mad if it wasn't for the fact that these people said to us 10 days ago...'Oh you know I'm coming but I'll mail it on Monday anyway.'

I know how you feel! mine is next week and im missing about 80 replies!

omg my mom just sent me the updated list and we're waiting on 76 people (not counting 2 people in the bridal party and a few close family members who didnt send theirs in but who we know are coming)

that is 47 response cards! i didnt realize it was so many! our rsvp date is in 10 days

Our min was 75, carefully negotatied by yours truly!!!!!!! Was finally hit today with the 12 yes's we got. THANK GOD!!!!!!!!! We invited 144, expected 130, and now we are lucky if we get 100.........anybody wonder if it's because our friends got engaged 6 months after us but insisted on getting married 6 weeks before us?! And the people that were at that wedding are the people we are waiting on?!

It is rude to send little notes to those who don't RSVP?

I mean can you say something like

'you didn't RSVP and we will miss you at the wedding. If you feel this is an error, please call us, otherwise we are afraid there will not be a seat reserved for you'

someone put some polite english on that ... and maybe I can send it?

I very much anticipate this problem. Very much.

OMG me too date twin... which is why i sent mine out in may and put an rsvp down for July 1st (BECAUSE I KNOW HOW PPL ARE).. so we called some ppl the day before the deadline and here are the wonderful answers we got:

1) REALLY?? It's due tomorrow??
2) I thought you knew I was going...
3) What day is the wedding again?

so yea, i had a breakdown, got really p/o and cried.. so the remaining rsvps are trickling in a week later.. some ppl handed me their rsvps (so now im trying to reuse the stamps lol.. they're expensive!!!)

we basically told ppl that if they didnt send in the rsvp, we might forget them when we had to do seating arrangements. the whole process is soooo annoying! and people just dont get it.. it really adds to the stress

I just sent them emails saying 'Hey **YOU**, I can't wait to bust a move on the dance floor with you at the wedding are ya coming or not!!!!'

These are just people who literally asked me everyday when I was sending the invites out because they were so excited about coming.

All the others we are missing I am waiting until a week after the dead line and then FH is just going to go off. Like I said is an earlier post...a lot of the people who haven't RSVPd are his friends who we saw at a wedding 2 weeks ago who said they were sending them in and they haven't.

I say start calling the day after the deadline. I saw a similar question somewhere that had really nice wording for calling up and getting responses. I can't find it right now, but I do remember I saw a lot of people suggesting to recruit parents or bridal party members to help make calls.

I also have to repost this b/c I can't stop laughing...

I can't even imagine reusing the stamp but I'm sure there are people out there that do.

I plan on telling people if they don't RSVP there will not be a seat/food for them. I really don't see what is so hard about it!
And SOOOOO many people are calling telling us they lost the invite, hmmmm, but you remembered that the RSVP date was today???? interesting.
But on the other side, today is my due date and i have several people from one family not RSVPing, but I know that someone in that family has been in the hospital for almost 2 months battling cancer, it breaks my heart that he is going through that and i understand that RSVPing might not be their first priority right now.

My shower was three weeks ago and I still have people who didn't respond. Imagine what they are going to do for the wedding. I hate stupid people!!

Start calling one week from tomorrow. I dont think people understand you need these replies to help organize yourself and the tables. And so you def know.
