Most wedding cakes are about $5-7 a slice, and many places charge even more....
Isn't it crazy when you think of it that way? I worked at two catering halls and been to quite a few weddings...the slice of cake is thin and is SO not worth $5-$7! lol Cheescake Factory charges like $6-$11.00 for a piece of their cheescake..but the pieces are huge and freakin' delicious! lol Mmmm..that's an idea.....Cheescake in different flavors. Tonight's conversations are food-oriented and now I'm starving! LOL
for buttercream cakes its alot less though, its like $1.50-2 a slice...the fondant ones get really expensive
My mom would literally SHOOT me if I did buttercream lol She HATES it. I LOVE Napolean cake and it's FH's favorite too....my my doesn't like that either but too bad for her lol She thinks we should go with cannoli....it's cheaper than Napolean and she THINKS more people like it better because SHE likes it
you could always do more than one flavor, thats what im gonna do, FH really wants baileys cream he saw it on a wedding show lol and i dont like baileys cream
Well, since Napoleon is mine and FH's favorite cake, we really want that. I was the only kid who wanted this type of birthday cake lol Everyone wanted Strawberry Shortcake or an Ice Cream cake. I don't remember how to spell it, but the bakery that made the BEST Napoleon was on Ditmars and I think between 36th and 35th streets....Ste. Honore's.

yeah at CLM they asked us what flavor we want and Fh said Napoleon but the guy suggested we don't...He says its alot heavier than other cakes and it gets all messy and from his experience not to do it, this might be for sheet cakes though, not sure

Yeh, sheet cakes get messy because of the whipped cream. Napoleons aren't easy to cut so the people cutting them have to take their time. I would want a regular cake for us to cut...can you imagine me sawing through the cake? lol You have to see 'behind the scenes' at a CH when they are cutting the cake lol What a disaster!
