mini wedding cakes

mini wedding cakes

I was wondering if anyone knew an inexpensive place to get these. I know a lot of ladies use them as favors, but i was wondering..are they big enough to use for the guests instead of a wedding cake? sort of like cupcakes i guess..but im not sure how big they make them? I've seen some really high prices for them like 35$ a piece.. but if i could do them for 5-10(almost the same as a cake per slice anyway) that it might be a cute idea.. and id just get a small cake to cut. I think it would look so adorable to have them put on everyones plate.. or if they are too expensive..maybe just the bridal party.. and i can have each little cake made in a flavor they love!!!! Any thoughts?

You mean like one cake per table??

I think that a mini-cake/cupcake per guest will come to more than a wedding cake will. Think about it...they'd have to personalize each one and decorate it..sounds more expensive to me but REALLY cute!

I have also seen cookies that are made to look like tiered wedding cakes.

It sounds like a really cute idea, but may be expensive. Making 100 litle ones is A LOT more work and detail than making 1 big one, or cupcakes. Check with some local bakeries. I'm sure they could do it.

I could eat several cupcakes right this instant. Thank God they're not available to me at this time of night!!

its gonna be hard to find it for less...Most wedding cakes are about $5-7 a slice, and many places charge even more...But for those individual small cakes for each person they have to decorate each individual one so comes out to more...You can definitely shop around. I had called seriously about 50 places when i was looking for a cake for e-party, i ended up going with CLM's cake bc it got annoying and also wanted to save the nice fondant cake for the wedding. BUT the cheapest prices for cakes i found were in suffolk county, they charged $4.25 a slice so MAYBE they can make it for somewhat less than $35 a mini cake.

Isn't it crazy when you think of it that way? I worked at two catering halls and been to quite a few weddings...the slice of cake is thin and is SO not worth $5-$7! lol Cheescake Factory charges like $6-$11.00 for a piece of their cheescake..but the pieces are huge and freakin' delicious! lol Mmmm..that's an idea.....Cheescake in different flavors. Tonight's conversations are food-oriented and now I'm starving! LOL

Yeah, we're planning on doing a different flavor on each layer since I'm a chocolatechocolatechocolate gal and he wants cannoli.

It's an Italian cake which also comes in a smaller pasty. It's flaky layers filled with cream, topped usually with a creamy icing....it's freakin' amazing! Any bakery has them.
