Mini wedding vent (not my own)

So FH and I spent the weekend in Miami for a wedding in which he was a groomsman. Since FH and I are planning our own wedding, he realized that his job as a GM is basically to do anything the groom needed to get done and anything that would make the bride & groom's life easier. That being said, here are my/our gripes as wedding guest/BP member:

1) If you're having a wedding and most of the BP is from OOT, the BP should NOT be finding out the DAY they fly in what time the rehearsal is. We flew in at 3:30 only to find out that the rehearsal was at 6pm and we needed to leave at 5pm to get there. FH did ask for this info beforehand but never got it.

2) Similarly, the BP should not find out the day of the rehearsal WHERE the RD is. These things should be taken care of ahead of time.

3) FH was happy to help out where he could, giving rides to people. BUT it's really annoying to chauffer around people who can afford to rent a car but chose not to. We paid over $200 to rent a car but other BP members got the benefit for free because FH is a good GM and didn't b!tch about it. We had to go over 1/2 hour out of our way to pick up another GM who chose not to rent a car and then had the nerve to tell FH that he should've taken a short cut to the church. FH told him that maybe if he walked, he'd get there quicker

4) Also, word of caution: be careful about blocking rooms at hotels that aren't near each other. You will feel a sense of responsibility to help OOT guests/BP get from their out of the way hotel to wedding functions because you're the one who blocked the rooms there in the first place. This is how FH ended up having to go 1/2 hour out of the way to get another GM at a second hotel.

Can I SO agree with three - at a wedding in CALI last year -- we wound up chauffering the GROOM'S parents who were too frugal to rent a car!

Seriously! We were happy to drive around one of the BMs because she was a hotel nearby and we know it was a huge expense for her just to get to FL. But the other GM was ridiculous. Ride moochers! Can't stand them!

Another tip: if you are a ride moocher and someone is nice enough to give you a ride, BE READY ON TIME!!! Okay, I'm done now Back to your regularly scheduled Sunshine programming.
