Minimum guarantee - too many 'no's'
Has anyone been really disappointed in their RSVPs? I factored in a certain amount of No's when I sent out the invitations - people who I knew wouldn't be able to make it but should still get invited. I've gotten their expected replies but I've also got a lot more 'regrets' than I thought I would. And this includes family members. I am scared that we won't make our guarantee and I am really upset. I thought I'd have more family there because since my parents have both passed away I thought the family would make a point to attend, but that doesn't seem to be the case.I am very bummed.
Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm so sorry to hear this! :( do you have a blist? Maybe some coworkers or newer friends who could make up the guaranteed number? Also sometimes vendors can be used towards your number

Also start having a conversation w your venue. They probably won't lower it but may be willing to throw in some upgrades as compensation

Definitely try to see if there is anyone you would have wanted to invite but couldn't, and extend an invitation to them. Neighbors, coworkers, friends, etc. Try giving people guests who didnt have them before. And definitely talk to your venue. So sorry to hear about your parents btw <3

Thanks for the suggestions. I think we will be maybe 10 short, which isn't terrible but still annoying and upsetting. We are already going with 'extras' at the reception so I'm not sure how much more the venue can give but I'll give them a call and see what they say.Welcome New Vendors
