I say change it now. You don't want to wait and then the room gets booked and you can't get your favorite room. change now!

So we've guaranteed 100 people for the room we are currently in, which isn't my favorite room in the place. My favorite room has a minimum of 150. Our guest list is currently at about 170, but we are on a Thursday and have a lot of OOT folks. There's also a lot of people on our b-list.

Our venue says that if 3 months before the wedding, no one has booked my favorite room, they would switch us with no increase in the minimum.

What would you do? Wait it out or just switch now?

thats exactly what were doing !!!

ETA: we waited it out since out its a january wedding so far so good we have one month fingers crossed hope for not late x mas parties but i am not sure about may its busier than January

I dont know I'm inviting 170 and my minimum is 110, and I'm not even sure we'll make that, If you don't mind paying for all those people even if they don't show up, then go for it, but personally a thursday with a lot of out of towners sounds risky to me, I wouldn't do it.
