Minor Problem

Minor Problem

One of my best friend's was attending school in Hawaii and I didn't know if she would be done in time to come to the wedding. For that reason, I never asked her to be in my bridal party.

Now she is back home and I want to include her in my bridal party. They said that we were still able to order a dress for her but would have to do it quickly.

Only problem is I already bought the BM gifts. I got them Coach wristlets from The Kittery in Maine. I also plan on getting them jewelry and a candle or something. I know that I can give one to her and get something different for my maid of honor, but I don't know what to get her.

I would want to get her something nicer than that, but I happened to get those at an outlet store on a day when they were having a big sale....otherwise I couldn't afford to get them.....if I include my friend, I will have 8 bridesmaids and we have 3 flower girls and 3 ring bearers, so it is a lot of people to buy for.....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

i would go for a personal gift, like a mssage or something that is special to her .. if she likes scrapbbooks maybe ypu could make her a small one of your friendship

My maid of honor is my sister in law....she has a baby so pampering herself is difficult. I like the scrapbook idea, but I don't have enough pictures or time to really make her something special....I was thinking that I could get her a different bag or wristlet (cheaper) but also buy her perfume along with the jewelry and candle...who knows!

THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTIONS!!!

Can you ask her to read or say something during the ceremony? Or give a toast during the reception? That way, she is included but you're not rushing to make her a bridesmaid.

i'd include her as a BM if you really want her in your bp. I added a BM late (had regretted not asking her for a long time but she already knew i asked people and i thought it would be more weird to add her late, but i ****** it up and asked her anyway and am SOOOO happy i did. so so so so happy.)

i'd give her your MOH gift and get the MOH something different. you can get her something else Coach from ebay -- not sure what your price range is but I can help you find something.

Re: Minor Problem

That was what I was thinking....I had explained to her that the only reason I didn't ask was because I didn't know if she would even be here for the wedding.....also, she isn't terribly reliable so I didn't want to have any concerns about her getting her dress, etc.

I had thought of asking her to do a reading, but she isn't always very clear spoken (on the phone or microphone.

Now she is home so I want to ask her.....my only problem was the gift. I am going to search for something for my MOH.....I will ask my brother for suggestions as well!

YAY!

Re: Minor Problem

I got my sister (my MOH and only BM) a diamond journey necklace from overstock along with her day-of jewelry (the necklace is for everyday use, not for the wedding), her day-of pocketbook, a monogrammed makeup bag, flip flops to wear after the introductions since she hates heels, and her day-of makeup. The necklace is below and was just over $100. I don't know how much you wanted to spend, but I think they have other necklaces for less - and then some for more as well. Tiffany has great necklaces for around $100 too. Maybe look at those places?

Even if she has a baby, she would definitely appreciate a gift card to a spa. She may not be able to use it right away, but I am sure she can steal away for a new hours (or an hour if it's for a massage, etc) sometime soon!

Here is the necklace:

Re: Minor Problem

The necklace is beautiful....I do think that is a little out of my price range, however....as I said getting something for 8 girls, 9 guys, 3 FG, 3 RB and both sets of parents is a LOT of money for my fiance and I to come up with on top of everything else....I will definitely keep my eye open to find something.

Truth is, my friend may not even agree to be in the BP.....having just graduated from college and coming back from Hawaii, she has no job and therefore no money. I suppose I will ask her today and see what she says first and go from there.
