Miracle Day at my job..I met Mike Piazza!

We had Miracle Day at my job... once a year we donate all our fees and commissions from stock and bond trading to childrens charities. Last year I think we raised 16 million dollars!
I got to see some linebacker for the Dragons arena footabll team. I got to see Miss USA (then I saw her on TV for the tree lighting at Rockefeller Center and I was like...OMG I just saw her. Miss Teen USA to our office too.
Then Cousin Brucie (the Rock N Roll oldies station DJ) came. I got an autograph for my mom. He was really nice. He wrote: To Cousin Susan. Rock N Roll Radio. Dawn is a doll!

**Then I got to meet Mike Piazza. He was so nice and signed autographs and even got on the phone and surprised some of our customers by answering the phone! It is in inside joke with my husband. I have a little crush on Piazza! My DH is a Yankees fan and I am a Met fan so we took a few engagement photos with me wearing my Mets Piazza jersey and him wearing his Yankee Jason Giambi jersey. I brought the picture with me. I waited on the line to get his autograph and then...I showed him the picture. He said that is so funny. He signed the back of the picture, a baseball and even asked if I wanted him to sign a picture of him..He wrote' Dawn, thanks for being a fan! Mike Piazza!
I had such a great day!
I hope we made a lot of $$ this year too! Final numbers won't be in for a while!

So did Mike spell you name right? This is a joke between DH and I - Mike used to work at DH's gym so for my b-day he went up to him and asked him for his autograph for me...so Mike started to write Denise and he spelled it some weird way. DH corrected him. He crossed it out and then started again on a new page in DH's notebook. DH loves to laugh at him since...

I love the idea you had for your engagment pictures with the 2 jerseys. I wish we would have thought of that. We did put a picture of us at a game - me in my Mets and him in his Yankee jersey in our wedding video.

It is one day a year ..usually the first Wednesday in December since I think 1984. We get to ring the opening bell on the NASDAQ exchange. We tell our clients and they trade with us ALOT more than usual. It is crazy busy. The clients can nominate their own charity... 50% goes to theirs and 50% is split for the 350 other charities like Big Brothers-Big Sisters, etc. It is in Barrons and other publications so institutions know. We really raise alot of $$ for them. Some kids from one of the charities got ot meet Mike Piazza. It was so cute!

Yes, he did! You are right..some people do spell it wrong. My name is in the dictionary..should not be that hard right!! I get DON, DAUN, DOWN..people are stupid but my little Mikey spelled it right!
