Miscarriage/memorial question

My dear friend miscarried towards the end of her second trimester a short time ago.
She is now approaching what would've been her due date and I want to do something in memory of her daughter.
I was thinking of giving her a snow fountain cherry tree (or another beautiful flowering tree) for her to plant in her yard in memory of her daughter.
But I'm not sure. Because it is winter, I'd have to give her a picture of the tree and then plant it in the spring.

Any other suggestions? I know this memorial gift would mean so much to my friend, I'm just trying to find something very special for her.

I think it's a great idea....will it hurt her to be reminded of it though? What about a jade plant? It can be moved in and out as the weather changes.

You bring up a good point about possibly being hurt by the reminder. However, I don't think she will be, if anything, she gets upset at the friends who are afraid to speak about this miscarriage, or say the name of her baby (she named her, had a funeral).
