misery loves company!

Original post by MonkeyLuv

So I'm sitting here on the computer, doing work because I hate, hate, hate my job, but I'm completely paranoid about getting fired. I've got a glass and a half of wine in me and a cigarette (yeah, I'm doing the opposite of quitting smoking right now).

Who wants to join my pity party and just go total b!tchcakes about the sucky things in her life?

Only the miserable and pathetic need apply!

Thanks. I'm sorry too. I would hate commuting like that

Not really. It's slow-paced and I'm not getting NEARLY enough money. Plus, for some odd reason, they haven't been scheduling me all that much. I've already started applying at other places.

Good luck looking (though the hotel perks were good) ! And good luck with the move! Let G (or me!) know if you need help!

Re: misery loves company!

Let's see...

We have student loan debt that is astronomical and I haven't even finished my BA. This debt keeps us from affording a home that is just little more than what we can afford now. Now we can afford a place in a crime ridden area where no one wants to live. With a little more to spend we could afford a 'cottage' or a 'fixer-upper' in an ok area.

My job is ok but I am getting burned out. I leave home at 6:15AM and return at 8PM. Nice life!

I interviewed for a job closer to home and liked it and they liked me but somewhere along the line someone said '..and if it is cold in your boss' office you would turn the heat up' and I was thinking that I stopped being a babysitter years ago.

Uh-oh was this the one you FMd about?! Was making coffee in the description too? Sorry it didn't work out!

ETA: The thing aboout bosses is that they are too incompetant to figure out how to work the fax machine, copy machine, thermostat...

Yes! It was the one we FMd about.

There were a lot of 'higher-level' things, and the salary is not bad, but turn up the heat????? Maybe that was a bad example? UGH!

It just seems so weird to even mention that. Maybe it was a really cold day in there? Too bad, the commute would have been so much shorter for you!

Well, if they call me for the 2nd round, I will go. I may eat it for the child care center and the commute.

Can I add to this thread now?
My DH just brought our only car through the car wash (as it was filthy from the past week's weather) and a metal beam from the ceiling of the car wash crashed into the windshield and hood. Destroyed.

Is the car wash responsible? That is awful! Definitely worthy of the misery thread!

HAVE to join in this!
I gained 20 pounds since the wedding, and I simply don't have the energy to even start to try to get it off....and none of my clothes fit me anymore...I look at old pictures of myself and i wonder how I let it get so bad....very depressing.
We have no money and Tom's job is in danger now......
There's a really negative feeling at school, and people keep asking my opinion and then ignoring it......
and I keep falling deeper and deeper in love with my kitten, knowing that she has a heart murmur, and might not live all that long.......

oh! and my brother is in iraq with the marines and everytime i turn on the tv they blast something about marines dying in iraq...and where.....but i have no idea where my brother is, so i have no idea if i should even worry.....

ditto on the dry skin - it feels like its being pulled off my body. try Eucerin in the tub - its very thick and kind of hard to spread, but it does the trick.

My heart goes out to you about your kitten.

And I am grateful to your brother. My prayers are with you and your family.

Re: misery loves company!

Oh I am SO joining this pity party!
Let's start with the fact that it's 11:20 pm, I'm sitting at work and my DH and all of our friends are in the city for our friends b-day.
I had an interview this morning where they made me take two tests. The first one had 50 questions and you only got 12 minutes. All that considered, I probably didn't do too bad. Then they gave me the second test... MATH!!! I suck at math!!! This test was so wordy and hard I almost didn't know what to do.
