Missing from the bridal suite

Missing from the bridal suite

I had my wedding at the Fox Hollow in November, it was a great day. FH provides you with a bridal suite, and an attendant who shadows you the entire day... she also holds the key to your bridal suite.

At the end of my wedding, the attendant packed everything up and brought it over to the inn where I was staying -I had no idea they did this.

The problem is that I had a digital camera in the bridal suite that went missing. It was out in plain site on a counter, but the door was supposedly under lock and key from this attendant. I of course didn't realize this was missing until the next morning, and went back to fox hollow to see if it had turned up. No luck.

The operations manager helped me look, and said that a family member probably grabbed it, to check with everyone and call him back if not and they'd TAKE CARE OF IT. I called back, and was told nothing turned up, but to let them see what they could do for me -they'd call me back. I never got another call. I've been calling ever since, and constantly getting the run around. I am obviously being avoided.

What can I do about this? Is there anyway I can hold them responsible for the camera? Has anyone else had to deal with this, what did you do?

I think you should go down there and personally speak with the manager. If they give you the run around then, I would tell them you are going to file a police report and report them to the BBB. Then do that. That's ridiculous.

I completely agree!

Write them a formal, detailed letter and mention that no one has returned your phone calls to date. Ask them to please get back to you by so-and-so date. If they do not, go down there in person.

If still nothing, report them to the BBB.

I agree especially since they said that they would be taking care of it when you reported the problem.

Be sure to send the letter return receipt requested, so you know for sure they got it.

Include all dates, times, and names of conversations, etc.

i've lost stuff in a hall before, you just got to deal with not getting it back, if there was another affair going on maybe another guest took it, you dont know. keep calling or speak to the manger, i did find my coat though after 3-4 months.

This happens all too often, and I'm sorry that you had to go through this. However, persistance (thought obnoxious and time-consuming) does work.

I left my shoes, extra favors, and a few other items (including a camera) in the Bridal Suite at Fox Hollow, and called them three days later. Fortunately, they had everything, and asked me to come in to pick them up. Since I'm in the city - I begged them to mail it to me, and they did.

Based on my experience, I feel that Fox Hollow was very honest with me - especially since they could've kept the camera - but instead, they sent it back.

I wish you the best of luck in finding your belongings...keep pressing them.

Tell them to check their security cameras. i know another hall that does that when something is missing.

Wow, you got your coat back after all that time, there is still hope! I have come to terms with not getting the actual camera back, which in itself is sad since there were pictures from my wedding on it that I would love to have more than anything.

But it does irk me that the Fox Hollow offers a service, that they aren't standing behind. They put themselves in the position to care for the items in that room, they were the ones with the access and key. If they left the door open, or forgot to pack it and then it was stolen, I think it is their responsiblity to replace it.

I didn't know I could report something like this to the BBB so its nice to know I do have some sort of outlet.

yeah, def follow up on that- that's complete BS! I would also just go down there and ask to speak to a manager about that. Explain that you haven't been called back and when you spoke to someone a while ago you were told it was going to be taken care of!

I would also print out a pic of the camera along with a description and price so you have something to show them- not only what kind of camera in case thay DO find it- but also what you expect to be reimbursed in the event that they dont find it.

Good luck!!!

well, just so you know I am going there this comming weekend to show the place to my parents and am going to bring this up as a question about security for my things in the bridal suite. Don't these vendors know about this site and how we all find out everything???

Re: Missing from the bridal suite

I have an update I thought I'd share, and I am afraid its not the best. After being motivated by all the post yesterday, I called once again and actually got someone on the line. Unfortunately wasn't the best outcome, because this guy -Frank Misitti basically said that he talked to the operations manager, my banquet manager and the owners and said that it is not in their policy to replace missing items, despite what I was told. They are not going to do anything.

I explained how unjust I felt this was, especially since I was told otherwise -how I had been led on for months, all this after spending thousands of dollars at his facility, all he could do was apologize.

Its sad after all the good they did for me, this is the story and the feeling I am taking away and will repeat. I told him that I would be writing to BBB and including this in any reviews I would be writing, but he didn't seem to care about FHs' reputation.

As it turns out, my home insurance will cover the camera after the deductible -of course I have to go to the police dept to make out a report first, oy.

I really urge you and any future brides to get some sort of policy in writing about the security of these rooms, and what happens if the unfortunate does. Please feel free to tell my story -missing camera from a November bride when you go this weekend, I am sure they will know who your talking about!

Besides this incident, the FH was amazingly accomodating, my day otherwise went off without a hitch, so I don't want any future FH brides to be worried. Its just too bad this is what I am telling you all about!

oh no! i'm so sorry. I hope they rectify the situation quickly and correctly.

I actually know your date/hall twin! Her name is Diana, her groom is Vinny.

I should ask if she had any problems, too!
